Your orchid has finished flowering so cut off the spent flower. It is likely to put out a new leaf, then it will send out a new flower spike. Pop it in a cooler location for a few weeks, it can help with initiating flowering. I keep mine on the drier side, I'm surprised they do well! Good luck

Orchid grower here! Most of my collection is comprised of orchids. Phalaenopsis like warm temps and bright indirect light to flower(south shielded window) In the fall the flower spikes are triggered by a 5 degree temp drop at night for at least 2 weeks. Then brought back up to regular temps. I find they tend to like to be evenly moist so moss is best unless u r heavy waterer. They like alot of feed those hybrids. I usually go up to 200ppm in the summer tapering back in the winter/ changing the fertilizer formula to a higher P & K value vs a high N. Hope this helps! Patience, the flowers are really worth it! In the epiphytic section i just love orchids or flowers and aroids for foliage. Win win.

I’ve nothing but problems with my peace lilies when I first get them. My regular peace lily is in a combination of water culture and leca and I’m just starting to transfer the different sections to soil. My variegated one is hating me right now. I’m actually starting to like begonias. I have several orchids Sweetie! Most of the time orchids needs to be repotted soon after you purchase them. You need to check the roots on the orchid. Usually when the leaves are sad it’s the roots and it probably needs fresh potting medium depending on what medium it’s in. I just got an orchid on clearance at Walmart and I’m letting in settle before I see what it needs. Although I watered it and gave it some cal-mag, epsom salt and seaweed.

Your orchid is healthy. It's just thirsty. Cut the dry stem, water it (water it from underneath, like African violet) and then let all the extra water run off. The wrinkly leaves will perk up slowly over weeks, but the plant itself seems very healthy to me. A quick tip is to water it when the roots look white. Actually it's ok to underwater them to this point between waterings. What makes them bloom again is a mild drop in temperature at night (like if the room's temperature at night is 10F colder than the temperature during the day). Also, it needs to produce at least one more leaf before producing a new stem, so just keep the watering in check and in a few months it will bloom again (the flowers will last for months, so it's worth the wait).

I have a couple of rhizomatous begonias I struggled with for a time. One of them took me a year to make happy. The big thing I learned was that they don't like big/deep pots. Their roots are delicate and rot easily. They prefer to fit their pot like an 80's girl in a pair of Jordache jeans...They would rather fit snug! LOL! Repot that baby in a smaller, more shallow pot. Mine thrived when I got them under a cheap grow light on my plant shelf. Don't water until dry, but before it wilts!(mine are in the basic mix of soil, perlite and bark.) I literally brought my 2 back from the jaws of death...we're talking 1 tiny leaf and naked stem, "read me my last rights condition." And the bigger one has been blooming as well (and against logic , it lives in terra cotta.) I'm sure you can get yours pretty again too. Good luck!

Watch miss orchid girl on KZitem for your orchid! She has ALL the tips for all the types of orchids. You might need to repot. Sometimes the roots are bound by a little plastic net pot under the roots too. After watching her videos, my orchid has grown new leaves! 🤩🤩🤩 Also, your veitchii does look like it was overwatered because of the yellow halos around the brown spots that I noticed. That’s usually a big sign. If you feel like it, check the roots, chop the damaged ones if necessary, and add half perlite to your mix. I’ve actually transferred my anthuriums into leca and a net pot and they are really LOVING IT! Thanks for ur awesome video 😍

ok, i am a bit of an orchid expert. you need to cut the dried up spike off, which is a normal occurrence once the blooms die off. you need to get that orchid out of its media, get rid of the rotted roots by cutting them off. then repot in a pot with holes so it can breathe. if its in sphagnum, repot in new fluffy sphagnum. i personally would actually wrap the cleaned up roots in new sphagnum, then surround that with orchid bark. then get onto a once a week watering program. give it a good run through of water, then do not water it again until it just dries out. they need really nice bright light but no sun. don’t get water in the crown of the plant or it will rot. leave the leaves alone, even the floppy ones. fyi, the leaves are floppy because the plant is dehydrated. even when you water it, the roots right now aren’t taking the water up properly. and never ever let it stand in water! best advice? watch the Orchid Girl on youtube. she is wonderful. good luck. (orchids are actually easy once you get the goods on them! but most orchids brought to market already have rotten roots, making them a challenge from the get-go!)
