Scout every single area before you move to it, whether is be a stash, building, vantage point, whatever it is. That’s helped me a lot as a solo player. If you plan going to a place like dorms, and you see a door open , and it’s only 4 minutes into raid, 99% chance there will be someone there. Plan your attack before you just run into it, if you spot multiple players , sometimes your best option is to get away and come back later (if you are questing) but if you’re PvP oriented than sometimes your best option as a solo is to wait for them and kind of play ratty.
@SmoocheeWallace

My number one tip (especially as a solo) is to know when to play slow and know when to get aggressive and move fast. It's easy to get scared in some positions but your fear of moving to a better position if the enemy already knows where you are approximately may get you killed more than just making a move and trying to get a peak or just reposition entirely.

Just happened to me last night. Figured I could wait the player out but they heard me turn in place before and were just looking for me. I missed an opportunity to get away and re-setup in a position that works better for me. I will say this wipe is one of the best for holding angles, so one has to be careful they are not pushing into something they cannot get out of with inertia (or too slowly).

@@Vognee in general if you are by yourself play slow to keep the element of surprise. Play agressive when the enemy is hurt or scared. You can tell they are scared if they sit in a corner or room a lot. Move fast after you lost your element of surprise and you are on a flank

Positioning is so important in every FPS game and EFT especially! Most often, I play solo and have average at best aim, yet, I still find myself winning the majority of my fights because I act quickly and reposition often. Also, now with inertia, holding angles is noticeably more effective so getting into a strong position provides an even greater advantage.

establishing roles? what do you mean? In tarkov you don't really need roles. Everyone in the team should be equally capable and responsible for any maneuver or tactic. Establishing roles is not for this game imo.
@solano79
2 жыл бұрын
@@glaiydan I think that is fair if your goal is pvp or for maps like Factory where everyone should run their favorite load out. But if your trying to run light house as Bears or larger maps it makes sense for each person to be some what specialized in their load out. The person running point might want to be lighter weight and have a mid to short range weapon setup as their primary. Someone else can be built like a tank and can draw fire and pick people off from a distance. Not saying roles are necessary but could bring a fresh perspective to the game.
@desy2478
2 жыл бұрын
One of the biggest things is playing to the strengths of your loadout. Always try to be in that situation where your weapon will give you the advantage. Don't go and loot an area with lots of close cover when all you have is a Mosin and a pistol. Everyone says how Woods is a great sniping map, yes it is but there's a lot of dense forest and undulations in the ground where a player can suddenly spot you at closer range. If I have a closer range loadout I will do more looting if I have a sniper loadout I will let others loot for me then kill them. Have no shame this is a survival game.

I used to have crippling gear fear even with my budget kits. I’d still run budget with 20 mil. If I encounter players it was almost impossible to get myself to move because I was afraid of making noise and being seen and mowed down. So I would just hope they would just meander in front of my gun and wouldn’t see me in my little camp corner or Bush. I eventually learned that only ends up with a nade at my feet or I just get sprayed down with pre-fire or just get sprayed out in my bush not being able to see out of the bush well enough to shoot back. My play style was pathetic. But over the past few wipes I’ve slowly have started to get over gear fear and now I tend to Chad out more and be more aggressive and I’m the one pushing people and making plays. You just have to learn to care less about your gear and not be so afraid to lose it otherwise you’ll never get better because you’re just cowering and being a rat in a bush or corner.

Best tips ive heard combined. erase every COD behavior you've learned over the years. Slow down and carefully pick your fights, carefully take confident shots, be aware of your mags, ammo, surroundings, etc. Stop and listen before moving too much and ask yourself while walking in the open, "would I be doing this in a real life hostile environment "?? The answer to most of your actions is a definite NO!.. Learn the maps and make slow secure movements towards your end raid destinationinstead of aimless steps to nowhere. Watch your timer and count your shots so you cam manage your mags. Don't be lazy on these things or it will be you who pays for it in your next encounter. Fight the urge to run and loot every body you see or player you kill, when you drop a player, someone else is likely watching and waiting to drop you. Don't be the guy who runs out and shoots from the hip but gets mad when someone takes a slow clean shot and kills you. Build a habit of crouching and holding breath when you encounter a player, dont spray and A-D strafe them all sloppy. Don't blame the audio because you got excited and didn't notice the sounds around you. Don't sit still in the same place you've been shooting from and then get back when someone comes up on you from behind. Don't hold a sniper as your only weapon and then be pissed when someone with an AK comes up on you. Don't shoot snipers from the same exact place and don't shoot multiple times at the same target without relocating. If you'd do these stupid things IRL, you'd certainly be dead IRL so don't hate the game because you make yourself an easy kill. It's not mil Sim to play like someone with a brain. If you make yourself an easy target, you will certainly be killed as an easy target. Slow down, this isn't Call Of Doodie..

I think two types of videos are a must. 1. Playing Solo. The squad can't get online, you have a quest to do and figure it might be better alone, or you just have some free time to get a few raids in. Solo Play is definitely more viable this wipe with the changes to inertia and allowing for slower game play. I think PvP for Solo players, especially when 2 v 1, 3 v 1, etc would be very helpful. 2. Squad Communication. Is there a most effective method of communicating? Are constant call outs the best? i.e I'm at 2 story going up metal stairs, I'm opening the door, hall is clear, pushing in, etc... or are more sporadic comms better? I've noticed it's all fine and dandy until a fight breaks out and panic mode kicks in. How to deal with high intensity fights (such is Tarkov) when in a squad could be beneficial to everyone! Love your videos. Thanks for all your hard work!

As Jesse states as the last tip….focus on survival! PvP is NOT a requirement for progress in this game. The game is to “Escape”. Stay covert, loot, keep your scav karma high & run your scav as much as possible. Do not overlook questing & your hideout!! This wipe, I had 4.5 million roubles, lots of “meta gear” & was lvl 5 before I even did my FIRST PMC raid! If what you want is to play this game like most every other cookie cutter FPS game then, you will die a lot & it will be a trial by fire. There is just no way around it. However, you CAN be successful & have fun without trying to emulate your favorite Twitch streamers. Like he says, just learn the maps (spawns, extracts & loot locations). I’m a 12 year military service member of two branches & the U.S. military teaches S.E.R.E. (Survival, Evasion, Resistance & Escape) I try as much as possible to institute those teachings into my gameplay because that seems most lifelike & immersive to me. So for me, I play it as realistically as I can rather than in a Hollywood manner. All that said, to each their own. Just sharing my two cents & the fact that the game can still be very challenging & rewarding without trying to become a super chad. Enjoy the game friends!

I am still new to tarkov and this is my point of view to get better: Most important thing you need to clear in mind: TARKOV is HARDCORE MMORPG with FPS elements on top of it. People usually confuse it and think that TARKOV IS HARDCORE REALISTIC TACTICAL SHOOTER with MMORPG elements on top of it... It isnt. Its the other way around... Once you make peace with this you can start working on how to be better because you will understand that if you meet people in "legendary" gear and you are wearing greens you will get fucked no matter what you do. Yes there are options like hitting the head to be able to kill better geared player or you can go for legs. But thats something you need to learn, because this game extremly unfriendly to new players. You cant practise with gear much because you get fucked and you lose it. So with that said... use garbage gear. Ideally at least some semi automatic guns SCAVs are using and just go into fight knowing you will die. And you will most of the time. You will get one tapped even through 4 lvl armor because the guy you met has high level ammo which ignores armor, but your ammo are bbs... there is litteraly no punishment if you get shot in armor which stopped the bullet so fights are completely unrealisitc and unfair. Be ready for that and be ready to die. But if you avoid combat you will not learn how to aim etc... you must go into combat to learn it. If you want to practise then go to offline mode and train with bots. It will at least help you get familiar with the gun, before you lose in real raid in 2 minutes... :) Really for me the game changer is acceptance that this is basically World of Worcraft, but with guns. And I dont give shit if tarkov fanboy disagree, because it is a fact. There litteraly isnt a single tactical shooter so unrealistic like Tarkov. So stop pretending it is one. Its is survival RPG and its what makes it fun. To go explore, fear for your loot you need for hideout upgrades, quests etc... I enjoy playing tarkov, but at the moment PVP is my least favourite part because of RPG mechanics in this game. And if some imbecil tries to convince me that armor is realistic then I encourage him to put it on and let someone empty for example standard MP5 ammo on him from 10m range.... Then let us share his experience after that. Because I believe it will stop the bullets, but I am wondering what your broken ribs etc will say next.... in scenario like that you will drop on the ground and will be a lot of pain. And the only thing you will think about is how to survive instead of Tarkov approach where you take it like champ wink on your attacker one tap him through level 4 armor... :) Its a fun game, it has shitload of cool mechanics like types of injury, healing, looting, gear customization etc... but armors and bullets are World of Warcraft...

Sometimes the only information you have is that you died which could mean several different reasons. Being able to pinpoint a reason would be amazing! Not to mention if you could move around in the mode with a free cam to look at your character in third person and even roam around the map at a quicker rate than just running around in offline mode you could learn the map much faster.

Solos over teams for me , teams are just for more of fun way to enjoy doing with friends, solos I get that thrill of not knowing how it would play out but I find myself doing much better at solos , you can listen better in your surroundings & you can re position however you like and make your own routes to your destination .

I want to make a comment about your first tip: The issue with Tarkov, is someone could play everything perfectly, best aim, movement, strategy, but still get Tarkoved. From a skill/competitive standpoint, having RNG aspects both buggy and intended is extremely frustrating.

Yes man 100 percent , also cheaters are hard to stomach in this game. You save all this gear , ammo , backpacks and die to something that clearly wasn't legit .

I got game back on December 14 21, only played a little but didn’t know anything but just picked it back up three weeks ago and I love this game. I play solo every time as none of my friends have pc but I did join the Tarkov discord and am in a group to eventually play with. Just time doesn’t match up, I’m 35 and a dad of six kids so I normally only get to play late my time when wife and kids goto bed so I think I’ll be more into solo runs for a while lol. But either way this video helped and you earned my sub

Being a new, solo player is so hard. Sometimes it feels like no matter what I do, every person I kill has a teammate right around the corner. Or I will be running to extract after getting some good loot and I get wrecked by a squad. It's very frustrating, I think I'm on a 10+ raid losing streak now

i REALLY wish they had like a pvp practice thing, so when you die you dont lose nor gain anything but it gives newer players a feel for how pvp works and how they can get better

Kinda necro-comment, but still Can anybody explain what was that reload at 1:35? I'm assuming thats an M700 Remington rifle, and I only saw it being reloaded by switching mags.

I would say I have tactics etc under my belt, I can just never seem to kill ANYONE. The only kills I get are sneaky 1-2 taps. Any 1 on 1 firefight and I am toast. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I blame a lot on bad ammo choice as I haven't had access to the flea market but that still doesn't explain just getting killed instantly without putting up a fight at all

Something I realized that helped me ( to touch on the keep moving thing ) why not be aggressive? So many times I die because I hear someone or I drop one guy and I just move and sit and wait thinking I’ll play it slow and let them come to me and all that. I get afraid that being aggressive will kill me and I don’t wanna lose my shit, but I’ve died so many times without shooting a single bullet that I’m just gonna risk it now. I’d rather have a chance of killing them. Dying sucks but it’s sucks more when you die without firing a shot. When you just get dropped.

i try to do most of the things you are talking about, most of the time.. but the biggest problem is i never remember to drop my backpack before that and end up being a fucking slow moving elephant for target practice. Last I played was about 2 wipes ago when weight and inertia wasnt a thing, and now I just cannot get into the habbit of remembering that. I swear I have NEVER actually dropped a backpack before a fight, even if i fully anticipate the fight happening and even tho I tell myself I have to do it before every raid. As soon as I load in that thought just gets removed from my memory. Map knowledge is also huge. I can't feel confident entering a map I don't fully know how to navigate. And because of that brining a more expensive kit there feels like a waste. Woods was my biggest problem, but now I feeel very confident there, I even learned almost every single stash (i think thats the best way to learn the map actually, is to memorize stashes). But the problem is with a full time job this took me literally a WEEK to do playing offline mode. So now the thought that i have to also do that with shoreline, reserve and lighthouse is killing me.. Even interchange, as soon as im inside the mall im lost.

Rebind crouch to caps lock instead of c and use it while shooting full auto. For me, it was a key improvement. I still suck but feels much better to shoot

I'm a solo player 99.9 percent of the time. my tips would be, slow down, don't ads if someone's near by unless you're ready to fight, if you think you hear something or if you think you see something you probably did, and lastly you can know all the tips and tricks but it takes time to actually learn and understand them, I guess one more would be sometimes people on tarkov are cool and you can beg for your life lmao

im level 2 and ran up and said hi to someone who then killed me. I fired back once, the rifle didn't fire more than 1 bullet, and I dont know if he was a player or scav or what. as a scav, I accidentally killed another scav because he wore different clothes. I got lots to learn.

I've died a lot to players I could not see. After rewatching, I was able to finally see them, some were just standing in front of a tree looking at me, but they weren't moving and wearing camo, so I just didn't notice them. Another group have just killed me and I've still not been able to figure out where they were after rewatching several times.

Does anyone know if scav karma is still up and what it actually affects? I am getting killed every scav raid by other scav players. I feel like if there was a bounty on you and the scav A.I. hunt for you if you are killing other scavs then it would have players second guess about killing other player scavs for loot

Great job made here King Jesse, one suggestion of mine is maybe do a guide about how a duo or even 3 or 4 man team should split and still have ways to not team kill anyone and kill other teams, and what type of communication should we use in those times Keep going with this good work, here on YT and also on Twitch!
