hi john, i love all your videos here on how passionate you are with growing, BTW, i have been looking for information about this flower we used to eat in the philippines, we call it KATURAY, it is known as agati or sesbania grandiflora. i wonder if have already featured it on videos that i have missed, anyways. I love eating them back then with radish salad. WOnder if u have seen them before.anyways, keep up the good work,

The beet John couldn't pronounce is the Crapaudine beet, second from the right on the bottom shelf, hot pink and shaped like a carrot. It's actually the oldest known heirloom seed, dating back at least 1,000 years. I think that's just so, so cool! Our ancestors were growing and eating those very same beets back in the dark ages, and they've remained untampered with all this time! I'm growing some in my own garden, and I can't wait to try them! Thanks Baker Creek, for helping me feed my family, and thanks John, for teaching me how, and thanks Josh for selling the Boogie Brew pro deluxe kit! You all are changing lives everyday. ✊

I'm growing about 100 varieties of differing vegetables from Baker Creek on my 40 acre farm. Melons are my favorites to grow, so I've got about 20 types. I've grown the Jing okra, and it's very good and can get to quite a large size before getting too tough - but I decided the Alabama red is best for my area. the radishes can grow in as short as 18 days (18 jouer variety)... the Ozark Giant bell peppers taste like candy, and are very productive. the rampicante squash is fantastic, and also stores well. LOVE the licorice and siam queen basil. the alpine strawberries are small, but fantastic (taste like pineapples).

This is fantastic! I tried seeding before and it didn't work for me. I can only grow in an apartment, I don't have a garden or yard. I guess I was impatient and not great at it. I think I'm going to need guidance or diy vid to show me exactly what I have to do with seeds. I've been looking for organic, non-gmo seeds from US only. I will check their catalogue. Thank you so much. Blessings to you and everyone on this thread.

@purposefully.verbose
6 жыл бұрын
many seeds have DTM listed in the item description on the website. some plants are light cycle dependent, so DTM may vary by region. they sometimes list items as "early maturity" for northern climates. some of their plants are originally from other countries, so their successive generations will acclimate to new areas. they do tend to very clearly label long season crops (central american corn, for example), so that people don't waste time trying to grow them. the russian/ north european varieties should do well for you, as they are short season. (i just got seeds for a russian watermelon as freebies in my most recent order. looking forward to seeing how they do)

I greatly appreciate the tour and all of the info you provided! It was highly valuable! However I do want to address the misogynistic, toxically masculine, and imperialistic comments that were made and then followed by a chuckle. I appreciate everything you provided in your video, but those moments greatly tarnished your content for me, and I'm sure other viewers. I would love to learn more from you, but if these kinds of comments "slip through your filter" then I don't want to give you another moment of my time. You seem highly knowledgeable and passionate and I would hate to miss out on learning from someone who actually has knowledge to share.

Instant thumbs down when you were in the apothecary and called the items stuff for girls and stuff for girly guys. Be an educator, not biased by incorrect societal falasies. Every one needs soap with herbs in it and at some point everyone will drink a tea. Please Respect the medicinal aspect of flowers and herbs, and what an apothecary stands for.

Every year I order a wide variety and colors of sweet pepper seeds from Baker Creek. Not sure what I’m doing wrong but all my peppers end up more or less the same and are all green. The colors never show up. I have a similar problem with tomatoes but with some variation. The hot peppers typically work out great. Maybe it’s an East Coast thing, and the grow season is just not long enough?
