I survived a 7.0 earthquake in the middle of the night from the 23rd floor of a high rise hotel in Tokyo. I will always keep a flashlight on my night stand no matter where I am or where I travel. Great kit.

After looking at a lot of edc packs I feel like there needs to be the “never used” mini edc. Put the things that you really never use in it like flash light, first aid, ext. putting thing you never use next to things you might use often just gets in the way.

Jon, I just came across your videos, and am enjoying them immensely. The one comment I have about your travel kit is to consider adding a small headlamp, such as one of the Fenix headlamps. They are much more convenient if you are in a hotel, the electricity goes out, and you want to see while having your hands free...

Hi, loving the videos - keep it up. That's a neat, really tidy set-up. I'm a little bit in love with the folding plug - it's got enough power to charge my laptop so 3A goes a long way! Few suggestions for anyone passing by to consider; (1) one cable with 2 adapters (replaced 4 cables). (2) usb/ OTG memory stick. (3) dyneema line (it's as thick as cotton thread but v v strong). (4) tube of superglue in plasters pouch (surgical glue when I've got it). (5) arnica cream - I swear by it for bumps and lumps but it needs to go on ASAP and when you're travelling it can be really hard to come by. Used to have quite big toothpaste sized tubes but I sat down once and made about a dozen 1 inch straw-sections filled with cream & sealed at both ends, it's the perfect amount for a bashed knee and the number of other parents I've been able to help is worth it. edit - too long

Thanks Friki - some great ideas here. I do have some single use small superglue tubes - very cheap on Amazon - so will add that to the kit. Good point also re USB stick. Will check out dyneema line 👍 Arnica cream I need to check out. Thanks again - you know your stuff.

You can carry just USB-c to USB-c, if you carry a bunch of converters, the flexibility of the ones designed for USB-c is incredibly convenient. Also, great flashlight...I'd have to think on what could possibly improve it...there are one or two flashlights that can also reverse charge your phone. But they are relatively large.

That's a good set-up. I love that Mu adapter! One suggestion regarding filming -- when you're doing a close-up, hold the item still rather than constantly moving it. Maybe show one angle for 4 or 5 seconds, then turn it and show another angle for 4 or 5 seconds. Otherwise, great videos and great kit. Thanks!

+1 for the MU power adapter. I have a couple of older ones. One that's only UK and a single USB-A port. It's even more compact but probably lower power. I also have a travel version like the one you showed but instead has two USB-A ports. Now I'm wondering if they have one with a USB-A and USB-C port.

no tactical BS like most of the edc folks from across the pond. urban and utilitarian approach which i like and support myself. Most of the EDC i carry (and it tends to be around 4 pounds of it) almost never gets used as i carry all this stuff following one simple rule - like with guns and condoms - it's much better to have and not have to use it than have to use it and not have it :-)
