I love the curtain idea to make the garage still be a garage. A quick question though, it doesn't look like there's a connection between the curtains and the screen. Has a ball ever been hit in to that crack? Does it fly through? Have you had to adjust to protect that spot at all? Thanks for the video!
@Lefishn

If you hit a ball in a corner like that then either you are a beginner or have a beginner hitting. From 8' away your ball shouldn't be more than 2' left or right of center so thats a 4 foot hitting area with few margin error either side. If you are that bad of a hitter to miss 4-5' left or right of center then you need to secure the corners and I would be afraid to have you hit on a at home simulator

I'm moving from Hawaii to Colorado in a few weeks and while I don't think it will be an issue coming into March to get back at the range, I know fall/winter 2021 will be a long off season and would look into something like this and keep super budget friendly. I'm going to be putting a home gym in a 3rd car garage and after the gym is finished I'll have about 11' long x 8 wide space left in the garage and think I can make something work in there. The issue I have is that I would try to run the sims just off a laptop tablet to start so I can hopefully not need a projector but the projector would have to go next to the garage door opener motor so I would have to do some measurements. My garage ceiling height though is 11'.

What I did is run the entire 10 feet section inside the sleeve I had made. However if I had to redo it, what I would do is have the sleeve shut at one end, cut off 2" of the pipe, insert the pipe in the sleeve and clamp shut the other end. This way the pipe wouldn't be able to move inside the sleeve.

@hazmatsystems1
3 жыл бұрын
Things to look for in a projector: RESOLUTION: First forget about the aspect ratio, with Windows you can adjust the resolution to fit any projector to any screen. Ideally you want a projector that can do a minimum of 1920x1080p resolution. The higher the resolution, the sharper the image. LIGHT OUTPUT: Forget about the number of lux, that's all crap. What you want is to look at the number of ANSI lumens. The more lumens the projector outputs, the brighter the image, and that's important in a simulator because there will be ambient light. The brighter the room, the more lumens you need to compensate. I would recommend at least 3000 lumens for a simulator. THROW RATIO: Depending on your screen size and room size, you may need a short throw ratio, meaning you will be able to setup your projector closer. Use the projector calculator found here to make sure the projector can fill the HEIGHT of your screen (you can then adjust the width in Windows): www.projectorcentral.com/projection-calculator-pro.cfm 2 very popular projectors for simulators are the Optoma GT1080HDR and GT1090HDR, both are short throw. If you don't need short throw and are looking for a 4k image, check out the PX747-4K from viewsonic (that's what I have) SHADOW: If you go with a standard throw projector, you need to make sure you don't get a shadow. To make sure you don't, first figure out where the projector would be installed using the calculator. Then have someone stand on a step ladder with their cell phone flashlight where the projector would be, while you stand where you would hit the ball. The shadow you get will be the same as with a projector. Once you have the projector, follow this to get your projector to fill the entire screen kzitem.info/news/bejne/0GOirWWpn6mroKg
