thanks for sharing. I've been interested in nutrition and vegan for 18 years. It's great to hear a nutritionist stating the ethical and environmental reasons behind the 'diet'.

People routinely think I am 10-15 years younger than I am haha I tell them it's because you stop aging when you go vegan.

90% of the soy grown in Brazil is used for farm animal feed. Brazil is one of the top exporters of beef and soy. Worldwide, 77% of soy is used for farm animal feed. Only 7% is consumed directly by humans.

So crazy right. And people think it's vegans that are causing it from eating tofu... 🥲 I find it especially sad with the marketing these days, people think they are buying more sustainable 'grass fed' beef - that has been grazing on land that was once Amazon rainforest.

I attended an event where we were eating vegan for a whole week, it was delicious but I had a lot of acid reflux and belly inconfort... I'm flexitarian with 2/3 of my meals being vegetarians, so I was very confused to why it was happening !

Hey, thanks for your comment and sorry I missed it until now! I've done a video on some key protocols that can help with gut health - especially when eating more plant-based which might be helpful. You can check it out here: kzitem.info/news/bejne/qKul2ptmhIV8foY

Are you a registrant with the UK Voluntary Register of Nutritionists by chance? Just trying to understand your level of credentials here as it can be very easy to get confused who & who not to listen to. There's so much confounding information online. Thanks!

It’s very convincing once you know the facts. My main reason for being vegetarian is that a meat-free diet can reduce your carbon footprint by 75%.

No offence yoga teacher who weighs 110lbs. But youre only focusing on yourself and your experience. You need to understand others opinions, because sometimes, people have conditions preventing diets like these. Vegan isnt an option for everyone.

Hey, as I say in the video, that's simply what works for me and aligns with my values. Everyone comes from a different place in life, with a different body, culture, environment and background and will have different goals and values. As a nutritionist, I support people in reaching their goals in a way that aligns with their values - however that looks for them. If someone has a condition where they can't be vegan I have absolutely zero judgement on how they need to live their life. If that's something that you're needing support with I'm happy to help if you have any questions. All the best my friend!

How many wild animals live in a soybean field? Are the pesticides sprayed on those crops poisonous to humans and animals? Do plant protect themselves from consumption? Ethical veganism is an attitude based on selected facts, not all the facts.

Yo, thanks for your comment. If you check out the section 5:27 - Common Misconceptions in the video, I go over this and more. If you look at the facts the large majority of soy grown is used to feed animals that are farmed for human consumption, only a small percentage is eaten directly by humans. There are for sure problems with industrial agriculture, and I am an incredibly strong advocate for more sustainable farming systems. All the best my friend!

Here we go again... If the deaths that occur in growing and harvesting crops count on the vegan side of the equation, they also have to count on the non-vegan side. The animal you eat also eats crops - and way more than you do. The non-vegan has the deaths of the animals they eat plus the crop deaths associated with those animals. But what about 100% grass-fed cows? They don't eat any crops. Well here's the problem, grass-fed cows still eat hay in the winter - and lots of it. In fact, they likely require more land just for their winter hay than a vegan requires for a whole Year's worth of food. And guess what, just like those crops that have heavy machinery go over them, so do the plants used to make hay. Multiple times in fact. Hay has to be mowed, tedded, raked, bailed and then those Bales have to be carried off the field. Not to mention pastures can also be fertilized and have pesticide sprayed on them. Plus the cows themselves can have pesticide sprayed on them. Then there's all the invertebrates cows crush and kill from walking on and eating all that forage. Also, according to the USDA, millions of cows die every year before they even make it to your plate

@@planted.nutrition I appreciate the reply. Really, I hate the Vegan/Carnivore war. It is a stupid war that divides people who want to live a long healthspan, when we should be focused on exposing the real enemy, processed foods and pharma. If you and I both reject the system and begin to enjoy good health, why does it matter if I eat a cow and you eat veg? Saying your vegan because you are killing 99 animals per meal instead of 100 is stupid. Saying your vegan because it makes you the best person you can be is much more valid.
