Fr. Daniel Donghoon Lee, 37, Archdiocese of Toronto, was born in Seoul, South Korea. His maternal grandmother was a devout Catholic and introduced the faith to the family. He and his whole family were baptized
at St. Andrew Kim Korean Catholic Church in Toronto during the Easter Vigil in 2000. In high school, he had an opportunity to visit St. Augustine's Seminary of Toronto, where he first learned about the priesthood, which
also marked the beginning of his contemplation on the priesthood. While the seminary visit left a lasting impression, it was a question posed by a Korean nun at his home parish that truly sparked his vocation discernment. Her words, "Daniel, you don't choose God, God chooses you," echoed in his mind, prompting him to deepen his prayer life, particularly with the rosary, and he eventually felt called to the priesthood. He graduated from the University of Toronto and entered the seminary in 2016. During these 8 years, he has continued to experience the love, mercy, and faithfulness of God in his life. He looks forward to serving as a priest in the Archdiocese of Toronto.
