Good info, like the camera showing what the bait was doing. Gives you a better sense of it all.

Thank you for all the in-depth experience you put into each video. We need to go high speed trolling in Boynton Beach sometime. We have a lot closer run.

Hey love the videos wahoo have been my favorite fish to target on charters but usually come as bycatch fishing planers, I’m moving to St. Petersburg and I have 2 tiagra 30wrslas on adj butt winthrop rods can I get by with getting 2 more bent butts with 30ws or should I buy 50wrslas for the 2 new combos it’s hard to see the numbers on your reels in your videos

Thanks for watching the videos! For high speed trolling I use 50’s or larger. I think they have a better drag system that last longer for high speed trolling.

What are your drags set at and when do your back off from strike drag to just enough to stop line creep? We sometimes start at 8-9knots and then I get up to 12-15knots and wonder when I should back off from 25lbs or more at strike so I don’t pop something. Thanks for the tips!

You're spread looks really really good speed is the secret to wahoo. If I'm just my dad I only do 3 rods. One thing that has worked for me before is putting a lure and your prop wash in the bubbles I'm talking about 20 ft behind the boat caught a bunch like that plus it won't get tangled with the other ones. Good display on ur lure distance set up. Talking about putting on ur line I use white cut tape so u know we're ur lures are. Any maji up there yet? They run big this month

Thanks Jose! What size weight do you use for your prop wash bait? Yeah they are just starting to catch them here. I just need some good weather to get out there now!

Very informative! What rod(s) would u recommend to pair with a 30W LRS and Talica 50 for wahoo trolling?
@ReelHazardous
3 жыл бұрын
I don’t have a particular brand I’m attached to but I would go with a rod around 50 lb class and preferably all with roller guides.

Do you ever slow troll with down riggers for wahoo? Is this possible?
@ReelHazardous
3 жыл бұрын
You can troll with downriggers for wahoo. It all depends how fast you want to troll. When I live bait troll for kingfish I’ll use downriggers and it’s not uncommon to catch wahoo on that. If I didn’t want to high speed but still troll fast I would use a break away planar and troll around 9mph.

What would you recomend with two lines depth, weight and distance?
@ReelHazardous
3 жыл бұрын
I would put a 48 ounce weight at 125 ft back on one and a 24 ounce at 250 ft or so on the other. This would cover a good area and keep you tangle free while trolling.
