I think he used to live in Montreal before moving to Toronto. That is the way how he always used to play even 35 years ago when I saw him play. Yes, I agree he should let the singer be the main focus but let him enjoy.

A+ showmanship and definitely some talent. The only thing was that he rushed somewhat, especially when he got excited. If he could have layed back a little bit and played everything a hair later, it would have even been greater.

The drummer was Kwon Soon Keun. He has been doing this act for many years - right back to the 1970s, maybe. He's Korean, but now lives in Canada, I think? He was a very well known drummer in Korea. There are lots of other vids of him doing this, some as a much younger guy. It's just a laugh, a bit of fun... can't believe all the comments from the haters.

Noticed a waiter threw his arm down with the first crash of the drum as if he was expecting this, plus the girl on the keyboards gave a sort of wry smile at the end of the song. The rest of the group seemed unperturbed as if it was a normal performance, particularly the bass player. Five and half million views on KZitem says it all.

Two things I love most about this: The singer, far from being absolutely fucking fuming with this clown, is completely deadpan throughout and even gives a respectful nod, bow even, of appreciation at the end. And I love the way the drummer's put his crash cymbal so high, so he HAS to stand up theatrically to hit it!
