Thank you for sharing your story, very insightful. You might have covered this, but if you weren't working to a particular date, would you have gotten Private Health Insurance instead of using your super?
@MarisaRobinsonBeauty
3 ай бұрын
You’re welcome ☺️ that is a good point, I briefly looked into that option but my level of coverage didn’t cover WLS so I would have had to up my plan to the highest tier and wait the 12 months. If you weren’t working to a deadline and you had the right level of coverage it’s certainly an option. I was personally happy to use my super, especially if this surgery would help prolong my life to the age where I can access my super ☺️ x

@@lorrainedelrio3493 Hi Lorraine, I would definitely recommend Dr Yee, he has been great and extremely thorough with my healing and continued results. Yes my GP referred him and I actually had another referral for him a few years ago from a different GP (I didn't go through with it the first time). My friend has also had the surgery and had Dr Kuzinkovas and is really happy with her results too. For me being able to meet with Dr Yee in Wollongong pre and post surgery has been really handy. I hope this helps :)

What about loose skin? And what do you do if you have it?
@MarisaRobinsonBeauty
5 ай бұрын
That's a great question and sadly loose skin is part in parcel with the procedure. They recommend doing weights and strength training after WLS and I personally enjoy yoga which has helped increase my core and upper strength but I do have areas where my skin is looser than it used to be. It also depends on how much weight you lose. I have lost 40kgs to date and I don't have too much excess skin, but I have spoken to other people who do and they are considering other surgeries to remove it. So it is different for each person. I hope this helps 😊

1.with sleeve they remove 75% of your stomachsome surgeons take 85 its there decision when they go in 2. A bypas tjey do not bypass your stomach they detach a large section make a small pouch size of an egg. They detach a part of the near the duadem and attach small bowel to the bottom of the pouch. I had one and ive seen the x-ray.

Thanks for clarifying, the bypass wasn’t an option for me so I didn’t get the complete run down. For the sleeve the 60-70% removal was what my surgeon advised me in my consultation, but more may be removed during the surgery if they feel necessary. It’s important for everyone to do their own research as each surgeon will provide specific advice to that persons needs and their body

@MarisaRobinsonBeauty The process takes about 1 year from consult to surgery. It's quite in depth to ensure the candidate is ready. Typical stay in hospital is 1 day. We do pay for optifast liquid pre op diet 1 week is $100CAD. Vitamins for life. Di you experience much hair loss?.
@MarisaRobinsonBeauty

@@CDNMusicLover I think that’s such a smart way to go about it and it shows that if people are prepared to see out the process they are serious about it and don’t just want a quick fix. It was quite a process here but as long as you had sign off from your GP and surgeon and had the money you could do it. I did experience hair loss and while it’s slowly growing back my hair definitely isn’t as thick as it was. Hopefully it does in the future but I’ll just continue to take the vitamins and eat a nutritious diet ☺️
