Wow awesome. I've been on a real Who playing binge recently and it's great to have another song to have a go with. Thanks. The more Who you play the better :).

Man I been watching your channel since privitricker days. Still trying to figure out the old name. I never watch any other channel to help figure out songs. I been playing a long time but never had the greatest ear. I've gotten better over the years. Also I been in a guitar slump and your videos always make me grab my guitar. Always inspiring. Hope your health is still doing well. P.S. buy an SG classic. Had mine 10 years now and its still my go to guitar. Especially for Pete stuff. As much who music you do you would like the classic.

John Entwistle had formal music training and played the French horn, so maybe he used different chords that Pete was not used to? It is in the Key of B. tunebat.com/Info/My-Wife-The-Who/04jUWHa4mIZKn7duaD2gXW The key of B major uses all the black keys: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/B_major?wprov=sfti1 I believe Irving Berlin composed F#, all black keys as well. Probably not a key Pete is used to. Here is an interesting comment from Quora: simply, those are typical piano or horn keys. Guitarists seldom use such as they do not allow for open chording. Meaning, ability to use open chords that utilize open strings. Open strings add to a fuller sound, especially on an acoustic! And, guitar solos are also fuller when one can use open strings. A very different sound than non open chord keys, guitar wise, than B or F. I perform in a classic rock band, but of late also with a duo that is more lounge/dinner entertainment. In this group, I have to play in “non guitar friendly” keys. Best thing ever, as I had to develop and not rely on past patterns.

One thing to consider in the B to A parts is to play the A as A/B (A over a B low note). This sounds more like the original to me. Great work.

I used to play it like that, but then I saw a video of Pete playing it and he didn't do that. I was kind of disappointed.

@@jamesjames9275 In kzitem.info/news/bejne/x2eduYtvZoeFlYo he plays it the way I'm suggesting (and you used to play) but it's the one where he gets seriously lost in several places. I think on Who's Next he plays it our way too, but there's so much going on it hard to tell for sure. This is one of those songs where it's different each time.

Are you sure the into is B to straight A? When I play it, I play it like A/B. A chord with B as a bass. No?

Also when it got hard for Pete to round up SG specials when he played them Gibson made im 2 both had tune o matic bridge and stop tail instead of the wrap tail. So unofficially the classic is kinda a Townshend sig model. Pete didn't think they had the same zing as the wrap tails so he dropped the Sg at that point. My SG with the wrap tail will sustain and you can really feel the vibration through the body way more then my SG classic with the stop tail. It a super noticeable difference. If anyone cares that is.

@@jamesjames9275 after the 2 tune o matic sg didn't suit him is when he started playing the LP deluxe then schecter made him the tele if im not mistaken. I cant remember if he commissioned it or it was given for him to try by schecter and he liked it. Its been a while since I read the story.

John Entwistle had the misfortune of being a really good songwriter in a band with one of the greatest songwriters of all time. Oddly enough though, John was the best musician is the band.
