How's your Nobis jacket holding up? I'm seriously thinking of selecting the Merideth jacket.

Hey girlie! I am currently trying to figure out which coat I want to buy for the winter... I'm in between a Nobis or CG. I like the Nobis Carla but don't like how it doesn't have any pockets inside so I'm looking at the Abby. I'm concerned it'll be too long. Is there any way you could measure this coat from the top to bottom, when u have spare time of course !

I'm in Ottawa, and have been researching Nobis, so thanks for your review. Really great idea to use the Lulu scarf with it. I hadn't thought about that, but it makes for a great winter 'system' so to speak.

I am a fan of the Aritzia Super Puff which came out after this video and I got the Matte Black long (2022) one for standing at the bus stop as I don't have a car or have ever driven. it is so freaking warm and it is the best jacket I have ever had in my life. The Second best One I Bought was five years ago from American Eagle it is a puffer jacket Purple and Black with a fleece lining and comes just below my hips and it is so warm I can go to the garbage that is outside my apt building or just next store to Giant Tiger and it will keep me warm. Those are my favs

Hello! Are the measurements of the jacket accurate? I don't know if size S would be enough or if I need the big one. I am size S/M. A little strong in the chest. Is the material stiff? Do I need size L? thanks :)

Hi Sarah, Thanks for your review! Ive been wearing Canada goose jackets during winters for a while now and looking to change. I have my eye on the She Ra of Morgan. I was wondering if you still wear your nobis jacket? What size did you buy? I was curious if it loosens up/stretches over the years? And how has the quality of the down, lining, waterproof exterior held up over the years? Any wear and tear? Thanks
@sarahhtran
2 жыл бұрын
Hi Jayne, thanks for reaching out, i definitely still do wear my nobis to this day. It's my warmest jacket and haven't had the desire to get a new one yet. The jacket still fits great on me - there are stitched square patterns in the inner jacket to keep the down evenly distributed so you wont' experience your down falling all the way down your jacket or anything so it's held up really well for me! I purchased an XXS. Some wear and tear that i noticed are just one or two threads that came loose but it didn't affect any of the stitching, I just snipped them but it hasn't created any hole anywhere.

Not sure which Canada Goose down u were referring too that has a thumb hole... because I own three of them & none have it. The reason why most ppl don’t own or wear a Nobis bcz in my opinion have 3 flaws: 1) it’s more geared for slender ppl 2) the arm length comes too short for most 3) It’s ridiculously overpriced. I had three Nobis downs which I had to sale on eBay cause I outgrew them. Not practical if you gain even a few lbs. Otherwise In my opinion Canada Goose is a better option. Though I have to admit My Fav Nobis was the Luna.

Just wanted to ask what made you choose that specific style over the others? I have a canada goose that I've used for a while, and was thinking of getting another coat, and am looking at nobis. Unlike CG, they don't have apprx temperature ratings (but I assume they're all pretty warm), so why the abby instead of the merideth or carla (both of which seem similar in style, and in the case of the former, length as well).

Do you have to tie the boots every time you put them on, or is it easy to slip them only on an off? 🙂
@sarahhtran

Steffi M. I tied my boots in a way so that I could slip them on and off. With that being said, slipping them on still requires me to use two hands on each side to pull. It doesn't bother me because it doesn't take that long and I'd rather do that than tie laces :) I hope that answers your question!

Hi, I was wondering about the sizing of the Nobis jacket? I am about 5'4" 110lbs, would I be a xs?
@sarahhtran
8 жыл бұрын
+H. Li. Hi! Now you have to trust me on this, I was hesitant when I was purchasing this jacket but USUALLY I wear xs for tops, jackets, blazers etc. With the Nobis jacket, you're going to want to size down. So I ended up purchasing a XXS. I know it seems crazy, and I was even hesitant after trying my brother's fiancee's jacket which is also an XXS, BUT after multiple wears, the down inside the jacket, starts to wear in. When you first try on an XXS it'll feel comfortably snug. But after a few wears, you'll notice it'll be exactly how you want it to fit. I even went to the Flagship store in Toronto and asked the sellers there and they said the same thing. So if you usually wear an XS, get XXS :)

This video is so much needed for us Canadian viewers!! I love your style and all the things you mentioned! I was wondering what your thought process was when deciding on the jacket? Can I please have your opinion on Mackage vs. Goose vs. Parajumpers vs. Moose and Aritzia jackets please? I really trust your genuine opinion and views on things :)
@sarahhtran
8 жыл бұрын
+gloriaa0214 Hi Gloria! I remember when I was in university, I really wanted the Canada Goose Jacket. Everyone had it, everyone said it was the warmest thing for the winter. I really only had a battle in my head between getting a Goose or Nobis. I am going to point out the reasons why I chose the Nobis over the Goose and Mackage. Canada Goose Jackets are designed for dry cold winters, ideal for those who live in the arctic lol... Most of us Canadians however, experience wet winters, rain, snow, snow and rain etc. I have read reviews on how the Goose jackets are not waterproof and although they are super warm, people have experienced damp clothing if it just so happens to rain on their way home in the winter (the only thing that Canada Goose designs that are waterproof are their "shells" which are basically a warmer raincoat). Nobis jackets are designed for wet winters. I wore my jacket a lot in late November and December even though it wasn't even that cold (I thought it would be looking out my window, but most of the time it wasn't from Nov-Dec) It has rained a few times while I had my Nobis on. I can attest to Nobis Jackets being waterproof! AND Nobis states it on their website that their jackets are waterproof! Nobis has magnetic snap closures which are easy to open and close, where as the Goose has buttons. The major reasons why I chose a Nobis over the Goose is because Nobis styles are different, their colours have a little bit more texture to them, not a lot of people have them, they ARE waterproof, they fit really nice, the magnetic closures AND NOBIS IS STILL A CANADIAN BRAND. Not sure if you knew, but Canada Goose actually got sold to the States, so it is no longer a Canadian brand. Mackage jackets in general just never appealed to me. Their style is completely different, and for jackets like Mackage, I feel like I could grow out of that style. It's definitely a more trendy type of coat. I've read reviews on some sleeves ripping though. Aritzia Parkas I never really looked into, and looking at them now, they look a lot more stylish than the Canada Goose, however they are only filled with 80% down and 20% feather. Depending on where you live in Canada you might not need a Canada Goose or Nobis. If you live in a place like Vancouver where it doesn't get overly too cold, you might be fine with a parka from Aritizia. However, where I live, the Nobis is the winner all around; timeless styles, waterproof, 100% down, super super warm, do not need to layer under the jacket to be warm. The only thing the Nobis jacket doesn't have in comparison to the Aritzia parka and Canada Goose are the straps inside to wear your coat as a backpack if you don't want to wear it or carry it.... personally, I've seen people wear their coat around and I am not a big fan of the way it looks. It's a great concept, but I don't feel like I am missing out on the other jackets because of those straps. I hope this helps a little bit!

I am 5'4 - 5'5 and my nobis jacket is an XXS. I was worried at first that this was a touch snug but the down in the jacket flattens a bit and fits. If you're usually a Medium I would get a size down so a Small. With this jacket because it is so warm you do not have to worry about layering underneath and that being an issue for size. You honestly only really need a long sleeve underneath this jacket and you'll be warm

For example I just went on to Kijiji.ca and typed in Nobis and here are the results, depending on what style you want you can type in Nobis Abby even. With Kijiji you must schedule a meeting place to purchase their item, they don't ship it to you. www.kijiji.ca/b-gta-greater-toronto-area/nobis/k0l1700272

+sarahhtranTV Haha, yea. I was researching for a little over a week. I tried on the black one at this store called Paragon over here and the large was a bit snug on me, so I had to move up to an XL for a more comfortable fit. My arms felt too tight. I ordered the Army Green Cartel. I wanted a different look. A heap of folks over here have black Canada Goose jackets/coats, I didn't want to go that route. I will have to shop in CAD more often. I paid 75 CAD shipping to rush it and it all came to about 630 USD. It would have cost me about 865 USD with tax in store over here. I am very happy about that :-)
