Yes yes yes on the non-witchy resources!! I'm Dutch and people often say there's no info on Dutch witchcraft/spirituality, that there's only 'good' stuff on Celtic practices and the like. And I always steer them towards the regional section of the bookstore. There is so much there on holidays, traditions, food, harvest, even architecture! It's a real treasure trove.

The Witches of the past were mostly not negative. But since they knew things others did not know, and were not insecure being alone, they were perceived as bad… others were & are suspicious and also jealous. Dankeschön for your informative videos 🌲

I loved this -- so wise and helpful! I had never thought about the potential of Google maps to help one learn more about the area where one's practices come from. I'm Canadian with a lot of German ancestry, and I am trying to learn more about Germanic regions in Europe and history.

Thanks for the video, very interesting! I would love to work with landspirits. I live in Berlin, without a car. Parks are overcrowded and the quieter woods are still full of dogs because so many people go for walks there. I also have a walking disability, so the few places that remain are not accessible to me. I spent 1+ year trying to build a bond with the Spirits in the nearest parks. If there are any. In other places, when travelling, I have clearly felt spirits, the parks here that I have access to seem dead and empty.

Physical accessibility can be incredibly difficult with spirits of the land, they seem to be buried deep in many places. Maybe the research route could help a little there too. Learning about the history of the landscape and how the city developed could give you a good basis to work with, or clues to more accessible physical locations. A good starting point seems to be the rivers and water ways usually, they can give clues about wells and fountains, that might still exist. (very hot take about resources: I got that idea from a fantasy book "Rivers of London", the author really did their research).

@@TheLadyElyen Thank you very much, yes, the research does help. Less about land spirits, but spirits of the place. I've found a few ghost stories from my area, so I can connect with them quite well.

@@hollygF1M It takes me about 1.5 hours to get to Grunewald because of my ( mentioned) walking disability and not having a car plus with an (unmentioned) anxiety about the route. So Grunewald is out of the question for me, unless I go with someone by car. Unfortunately, it's not a good place for me to connect with Landspirits there, because I can't do that regularly. If you know German (maybe, because you know Grunewald), I have a video on my channel about magic with disabilities "Magie mit Behinderung". I go into detail about why something that is very easy for most people (e.g. going into the forest) is almost impossible for me (and others).

Not really I did post a video where I talked about plant lore pertaining to the oak tree, and I have a post on Patreon in which I expand on it But that's about all plant related content I currently have. However, I do plan on talking more about herbs and plants in the future!

Love your take on identifying as a witch to be inherently political. I'm pretty new to the practice. One of the biggest things that solidified this as a path I want to take was reading/listening to people's experiences who approach it in that way. Aligning the witch with the oppressed and using your power to create a better world. Also just wanted to say I appreciate your channel so much! I'm an american with largely German ancestry, and your work has been a great way to start reconnecting with that (especially since I'm less than 3 months in to learning german 😅)
