Exactly what I’ve been looking for! I shoot rodeo and it’s usually 2000-4000 shots a day for a weekend. Thank you for all your hard work and I really enjoy your videos!

I appreciate you walking us through the full workflow. I have a very similar system but I always struggled with the photoshop step and duplicate files so that helped. Then using the album function to keep the mix of retouched and just toned final images straight was a big piece of the puzzle. The part I add that I wish I did sooner is taking the extra time for finishing with a rating system. I end up with so many photos especially in sports photography. I try to be really selective in my ratings, I don’t rate bad photos so 1 star is good, 2 is the photos I’d want to share from a shoot, 3 might be my best photos from a few shoots, then 4 and 5 are reserved for all time favorites or portfolio builders. Finally, making sure to tag my family members names in individual photos is huge as well for looking back on.

i dont use cats for any of my editing ....i use PM to cull shots and rate them faster ....then i rename them in PM ....then go to the main folder on my hard drive and delete the old name files ...then take the cull photos into lightroom to edit and tone them and then save those to a new folder on my sdd drive ...that way i dont have 100s of cats on my edting and culling software

What are you referring to when you say cats? It sounds like we do the same thing, you just add an extra step when you re-save the toned photos from Lightroom. I don’t see the need to re-save them, you can just add them into a collection of selects if you need to. I only import the culled photos also, but I don’t delete anything until the shoot is completely done and the client has ordered.

@@MattHernandez catalogs + cats for short ...my bad .....i delete the other raw files that didnt make the culling cut ....the ones that did i edit in lighroom and save into a master folder on my ssd ( i keep those & i send them to the person or team i shot ) but instead of saving all the photos in lightroom to a catalog ...i make a master folder on my ssd drive and save them there and keep them that way lighroom is clean and not so busy with 800 catalogs on my side view and it will help run the software faster cuz less to look through
