I love your color schemes ,man. Is the grip 3d printed? And if so what is it? Cuz i was looking for something like this everywhere.

When you prepped your blaster did you sand off all the printing, or did you juat have to scuff it up to make sure the paint sticks?
@TheGriever2112

For my base coat I tend to use vinyl dye. I normally do sand my blasters before any painting, but I tried applying the vinyl dye and let it cure over night and it went on just fine. I did a test piece on the stock first. The prints show under the paint, but it doesn’t bother me, and at a distance you can’t tell.

For the life of me I cannot find a matching spring in UK, at all. No idea how to find a replacement. I got the barrel from SilverFox but it is awfully tight - long darts get stuck, there's no way I can blow a short dart through the barrel at all, need to push it through. That's the 13mm barrel - is it supposed to be THAT tight? Importing it to UK was already bad, now I'm just annoyed with myself (not to mention I've ordered a wrong spring...SF-X3 from some unholy reason.

The 13mm should work, that is almost the standard for barrels. Could be the longer barrel with the stock spring might not be enough. Sadly I’m not too familiar with UK store options. If you can, maybe try Blasterparts might have them, they are in Germany I believe. If not next time you order from Silverfox SF-25 spring… or some kind of Talon Claw spring.

@@TheGriever2112 Much appreciated - yeah you're spot on and right about the stock spring, it seems to be firing only short darts at half of the previous distance which makes sense with the loss of energy to friction. Beefy spring should push the short ones out no problem and at much higher accuracy (stock longshot is a bit inaccurate even if better than anything Nerf released in years or if at all). Truth be told I'm a bit surprised as I was sure it won't even push it through. Given I've managed to get a very, very good seal it should work fine with F25 - which is the only reasonable option, got that from blasterparts (delivery £15 as opposed to £30 from US). Modding UK is a pain in the butt, imagine now Longshot is the ONLY performance blaster available here...

You would need a good spring in there first and foremost. You, potentially, could get range and power. But you will also have to deal with a blaster that is just about equal length barrel to blaster.

@TheGriever2112

@@MrAjusog thank you for the concern 🙏 The paints I used were part the look, but also the durability. The vinyl dye absorbs into the plastic (as long as it takes properly) and the purple is a lacquer paint so it doesn’t scratch easy. Also I have lucked out where I’m not having too many flex issues with it.
@MrAjusog
24 күн бұрын
If it the dye gives stiffness to the plastic, that actually sounds like a major improvement to the blaster's longevity which sounds awesome. I was afraid I would have to epoxy resin coat mine first and then paint.
@TheGriever2112
24 күн бұрын
@@MrAjusog the dye doesn’t add stability… but the way it works is adheres to the plastic more directly that just a layer of rattle can paint. Like when it set, only way it comes off is sanding. And yes there are some weak points with the blaster, but the ones I’ve worked on, the only big issues are the plunger tube, which can be swapped and upgraded. The only thing that I would say needs some reinforcing if the picatinny rail under the priming grip. And that I would use epoxy putty. I have yet to see a Xshot Longshot have a massive shell failure, without someone landing on it or intentionally trying to break it.
