I have wonderful memories of being at another concert during this time, and then years later seeing Mylon preaching! Knowing that his entire band were ordained ministers it's no wonder that all of them didn't just sing they were preaching to music!!! God bless them all. Mylon only now do you know how many lives you touched and are continuing to touch! I am thankful I not only got to see you in concert, play your music on the radio when I was a DJ, but introduced my children to your music!!!

@troyevitt2437
Жыл бұрын
@@donmcc6573 Yep and Micheal McDonald of the era sounded like Lionel Richie of the era due largely to the production standards of what Big Radio was pushing for. Mylon & BH's natural vocal range was in the timbre of Micheal McD' and they wrote material that sounded more M McD solo than with the Doobie Brothers. CCM had boards of researchers whose key focus was listening to that dreadful secular music, building out new CCM bands and influencing new material for existing CCM bands which intentionally sounded like "the world". Yes' 90125 influenced CCM heavily, Philip Baily had a CCM/Gospel side-project of Career from Earth, Wind and Fire, but in the secular world, he did "Easy Lover" with Phil Collins. Look at the shift in Petra's sound after "Not of This World". They went from from their secular roots in Head East to dressing from Merry-Go-Round stores. "Beat the System" 's Simmons Drums and synth-sequencers were a far cry from "God Gave Rock 'n' Roll 2 U". I look back on it with regards to Kansas' "Carry On Wayward Son". It's the world's most popular CCM song largely because so few people realize it even IS a CCM song.

I went to a few of Mylon's shows around this same time when I was in my teens. It was a great time where you can have clean fun and stay out of trouble. I even went to AtlantaFest 1988 which was held at the Atlanta International Speedway....where I actually saw Mylon at a Taco Loco where the church group I was with just happen to be having lunch at. Everybody in the group had a Mylon concert t-shirt on, except me. Mylon said that we looked like his little Army. I went from an agnostic, and finally became an atheist as I finally wised up as I grew into adulthood and came to the realization that religion was nothing more than a business. Sadly, I can say with confidence that Mylon did not advance into 'heaven' as there is no heaven. His fate was the same as ours where there are only one of four options: burial, cremation, donated to science, or never recovered. Religion is fun for a little while, however, the illusion of it all soon fades away with time when reality sets in. Religion has always been a sophisticated form of mind-control developed by religious hustlers and political swindlers to control a weak-minded population who will believe anything they are told. Religion is nothing more than a false sense of security that was invented by superstitious leaders and political hustlers who found it difficult to manage their out-of-control population and was created to be nothing more than a false indoctrination whose basis is to threaten a population with fictitious consequences for disobedience, misconduct, and lack of respect for authority in order to control them to keep them in line. Brain-washing has always been the tool of choice to govern a population and it is just as prevalent today as it was then. 'God' and 'Jesus' are just fictional figures of the same propaganda, exceptionally unlikely to be realistic, and is completely fabricated to manage a population by promoting false promises and exaggerated claims. Those who possess no critical thinking skills or any valid arguments will likely surrender and commit themselves to this foolish folklore because they can't think for themselves anymore...There is no god, folks,.....................never was,....never will be.

I feel for you, man. Soon, you will meet God, face-to-face. If you get there without receiving His offer of Mercy and Grace through His son Jesus Christ, an eternity of regret awaits. @JeffF-gc3df Sorry, the propaganda never works on me. Your mind is contaminated with the illusion that there is some mythical figure who looks out over you. It's all made up, my friend. In case you didn't know, more people have been killed 'in the name of god' than for any other reason. So don't force a bogus list of commandments on me that nobody believes in that looks great on paper but significantly fails in spades in the practice department of 'thou shall not kill'. Religion was designed to control primitive people who can't think for themselves.

I remember during Mylon LeFevre and Broken Heart's set at AtlantaFest in 1988 where they attempted to open with 'Trains Up In The Sky'. They tried twice and each time they tried to play the song, they tripped the stage power breakers. Finally, the event stagehands routed power from Mylon's tour bus to the stage for their equipment. When the lights came back up for a third time, Mylon said that 'god didn't want them to play that song'. I remember like it happened last week and that was 35 years ago. R.I.P. Mylon LeFevre.,.......sadly,....after Mylon died, ....he went no further than you and I are going as I am a proud Athiest again. Religion is a cute and fun idea for a few years, however, the reality is closer to home and more simple. There is no god, and never was.

@kimberlyhortz6471 I've seen the light,...and it isn't in religion. Religion is the greatest scam of all mankind. Created by political swindlers and religious hustlers to control and keep a weak-minded population in line with fictitious consequences for failure to be obedient and lack of respect for authority by way of false promises and exaggerated claims. Pray all you want, you'll never be heard as there has never been anyone at the other end. Religion is for those who have no answers, arguments, and can no longer think for themselves. There is no 'living' god,..never was, .....never will be. What are the chances that Christians who believe that they found the right religion and God, while the billions of others who chose among the thousands of other religions and gods, who don't believe what christians do, got it wrong?? What are the chances??
