I understand but most of the criminal activity comes from out of Towner's so the way you feel we feel. Try coming during the winter you'll see that theres barely anyone out. Most of us are just workers or entrepreneurs living life enjoying the scenery of our lives and where we live 🤷🏿♂️. Ocean Boulevard is only a portion of MB and it's only like this at night in the summer. I've lived there for 30+ years and never had an issue yet. Young people like to cruise the boulevard at night and that's what this is. It used to be worse than this where traffic would barely move at all. Plenty of other places you can go in MB. If you book a hotel on the boulevard, just take any of the streets west to get between Kings Hwy and 17 Bypass to get to the meat of the city and away from this.

I lifeguarded at MB in the late eighties for one of the two beach services. I saw and experienced things the average person never sees or experiences. The friendliest people I dealt with were the bikers during bike week. Back then, there was an Air Force base that had an A10 Warthog unit stationed there... some truly evil looking and sounding close air support jets. Got to know some of the Air Force people including a few A10 pilots...they were good guys. A lot of Marines on liberty as well. Back then, few African Americans frequented MB, sounds like its changed. One of the things I learned from being a beach lifeguard there is the place is a tourist trap and its about NOTHING but getting your $$$. I don't go there anymore. A lot of drunk people and people getting high. BTW, being a beach lifeguard at MB is not an easy job its a hot, high stress, physically dangerous job with a HUGE amount of responsibility.
