Hi Sean. I was only thinking about you the other day, and wondering when you were next going to put a video up. Annoyingly, KZitem won't let your channel to send me a notification when you upload a vid. Anyway, fantastic video as always, you never fail to disappoint! We're always curious as to which mystery you'll cover next! We drove past Byard's Leap last weekend on the way to Woodhall Spa, and it reminded me of your video from a while ago. Stopped by at the Royal Oak at Scopwick on the way back for a drink in the late afternoon sun; I think summer is definitely round the corner! All the best,

Another great video Sean. Re Miles Cross Hill. While I prior to this, didn't know about Baitman and his Devilish-dealings under the Hawthorne Tree (thanks for introducing me to this story) If you had turned around and followed the A1104 away from Alford towards Ulceby Cross Roundabout, about 300m down that road there is a small patch of Wood on the right, marked on old maps as "Bogle Holt" which as the name suggests, was reputedly the home of a terrible Bogle or Boggart! it seems Miles Cross Hill is a generally spooky area.
@Seany63

Thank you very much mr Boggart. Speaking of which, I didn`t know about "Bogle Holt" Do you know any more about the legend?
@BoggartStones
Жыл бұрын
@@Seany63 I think it's using the Bogle name in the sense of a ghost or spectre. Someone from the village of Well told me The woods (Bogle Holt) are haunted by a ghost that appears as a bride in white looking for her dead husband. He (the husband) was the game keeper, and they lived in the house set just back from the road on the opposite side to the wood and quarry. On his wedding night he heard shots and went out to investigate. This happened on near the quarry. He was shot and killed by the poachers. There is a stone marking where he was shot and he is buried in the church yard at Well.

@@BoggartStones Funny you should mention murdered gamekeeper William Dadley as I have made a video about him. I found the murder stone in the quarry and visited his grave. Blimey mate, that one was different but as always superb to watch. If those trees could talk in languages we could understand imagine the stories they could tell..? I think the last one stuck out most even though the tree has long since gone. And i never knew that about where 4 roads cross/meet either. Though that said i know for a fact people still make deals with the devil, though nowadays they no longer meet at crossroads to do this, they go to places called polling booths and place a X in the box. Its fairer you see, you get to choose the devil of your choice! No seriously another great video Sean, you did some travelling around on that one didn't you? Amazing that trees have such history and stories to them. Thank you for some more great entertainment and a few new things learned.

Onto nicer tones, the trees video was amazing Sean, but you know they say that every square foot of land has history to it due to the age of it, all them centuries things would have happened, people, animals, and trees long gone.
