It's been too long since I last made a video.... Sixteen months in fact. Sorry I left it so long everyone.. I'll try to get at least one video a week done until this project is complete. I'll get the Part 1 video for this put together over the weekend. Cheers!!

I is great seeing you again, I'm looking forward to your next videos. That BLINKING you have problems with, may have to do with unstable voltage for ws2811 chips, I was having this problem when i didn't limit the brightness in software and supply voltage sagged from 5V to 3,5V becauese of volt. drop on long cable. I tried two ws2811 on Lab PSU (lowering voltage) thy wont flicker... Whe using buck converter (same as yours for 5V) to power leds and and starving its supply so it outputs more ripple that effected data transfer between ws2811 ICs the same way as yours to flicker. Im yust experimenting and wondering as i didn't see your circuit exactly from video.

Im glad you're back jim. i thought that you had given up with YT and electronics after your last video 16 months ago about your 3D printer build. You have a nice calm voice. Why are you using 24V bus when you're DC converting it down to 12V anyway on each module. What is the efficiency of these 24-12V DC-DC converters? You can get high current 12V PSUs pretty cheap. I bought a Dell 12V 18A PSU brick on ebay for £10. Its the one used for the ultra small form factor PCs and very good quality and probably at least 85% efficient.

OMG Jim, your fist 20 seconds is me exactly! And then when you talked about not being able to respond to comments properly I'm like ... same. So nice to see you again though... And I see you have a couple more videos for me to check out after this one. Cool watching the soldering and sweet you designed the board. Doing some cool electronics in the garden these days.

Happy days!!!!! Good to see you back . Funny I spent today thinking all day about doing a video on my new CCTV system and link up's to 12v through the house . Happy to see you back and to see a bit of electronics - gets boring watching the same old guys on here "big Clive, Julian IL, mikes electric, etc - fingers crossed for some more electronics, 3d prints, and hydroponics from you !!! Again! Nice to see you back!!!!!!!

Thanks Edward. Nice to see you again too. I know what you mean about getting tired of the same channels all the time. On the plus side, they produce lots of good content, but it seems like about 75% of the other channels I've subscribed to have dried up lately. Hope all is good with you. Cheers!!
