One of the famous lion-eagle mythical creature, the griffin, also known as gryphon or griffon. This is the first part of the sound effects of the griffin, so the part 2 will come soon. Welcome to another SFX series, Mythical Creatures Sound Effects. Imagine what those creatures will sound like at real life, you may know about that.
About the griffin, it may not only screech like an eagle or roar like a lion, but have many sounds mixed! We have to know the features of the griffin can have. Their voice box is pretty sure unknown and not defined, but basically some scholars say that this creature has a voice box mixed with a syrinx and larynx. At least, there is not evidence about it because we haven't seen those creatures. So clarifying its appearance, I could say its like an eagle and lion mixed altogether, but what really the griffin sound like? This is my recreation of the sound effects for this majestic beast, and it may be probably accurate, we will find out what it sounded like. Defining its traits, they're similar to modern day raptors (Modern day birds of prey), possibly hissing birds, and felines. The example of traits could make an idea of what it sounded like. Using the Steller's sea eagle at the first part, composed of white backed vulture at lower pitch, a bit of parts are at normal pitch. Lions, leopards, and tigers as a basis for communication, same as white backed vulture. And also used cinereous vulture to fit with their traits, and even the martial eagle. And also used a swan his. Yes, even mythical creatures behaved similar to our modern day animals too. This is by the action we have for the creatures having a similar trait between animals for sure. And this is really what the griffin may have sounded like. Whereas they have in common with other animals.
