Ingredients
Fish - 1/2 kg with out bone
Marination
Kashmiri Chilli Powder - 1/2tsp
Chilli Powder - 1tsp
Turmeric Powder -1/4tsp
Vinegar or lemon juice -2tsp
Salt -1/2 tsp
Pepper powder -1/tsp
Coconut Oil -1tsp
Water -2tbsp
Curryleaves -3
For Masala
Onion -2
Small Onion -10 opt
Green Chilli -4
Garlic -6
Ginger -1 small piece
Fennel seeds -1pinch (crushed )
Curry leaves -
Tomato -1
Turmeric -1/4tsp
Kashmiri chilli powder -3/4tsp
Chilli Powder -1/4tsp
Coriander powder -1tsp
Salt -
Coconut milk -4tbsp (opt ) or 1 pinch sugar
Oil -3-4 tbsp
Crushed Pepper -1/4tsp
Green chilli and tomato -last
Method
Take a fish which has less thorns. Marinate the fish with - Kashmiri chilly powder,Turmeric powder, chilly powder, pepper powder, salt , vinegar 2 tsp, oil and curry leaves. Add little water to make a smooth paste. Keep the marinated fish for 30 mins.
Fry the fish pieces till it is cooked. Keep aside.
Take 2 tbsp of coconut oil in a pan. Add curry leaves, 6 pods of crushed garlic and ginger. Saute on medium flame. Add shallots and onion. Saute . add salt and green chillies.when the onion turn golden add some fennel seeds powder. On low flame add turmeric, ¾ th tsp Kashmiri chilly powder saute well. Then add chilly powder and coriander powder. Saute well. Add tomato puree. Cook well till the oil churns out. Add hot water. Check the spices. Add the fried fish. Mix well. Add thick coconut milk. Roast it well. Garnish with pepper ground, tomato pieces and green chillies.
