Xilamuren Grassland is located in the Darhan Muminggan United Banner of Inner Mongolia. The name "Xilamuren" in Mongolian means "Yellow River." Commonly referred to as "Zhaohe" in tourism, the grassland got its name from the Puhui Temple, a Lama temple from the Qing Dynasty situated on the banks of the Xilamuren River.
The temple was originally the summer palace of the Sixth Living Buddha of the Xilituzhao Temple in Hohhot and was built in the 34th year of the Qianlong Emperor's reign (1769). The temple features intricately carved beams and painted rafters, presenting a magnificent sight. Behind Puhui Temple, the Xilamuren River meanders, and a bridge over the river leads to Mount Alebinbao, from where visitors can enjoy the expansive grassland scenery. The boundless vista is breathtaking.
