I just inherited my dads custom ordered 2008 335i manual e92, 25k kilometers, and a full option list except for adaptive cruise and rear steer. It's a 6 speed with the optional 19s and dakota leather. Great video, by the way. The belt is the worst thing for that motor. The previous owner probably never knew, but that previous tech sure did😅.

I've heard of bearings failing with less then 1000 miles after replacement. How did yours last? And any reasoning to why this might happen?

What is break in period for rod bearings?

I spoke a little bit on it at the end but BMW doesn’t specify and same for the s65 rod bearings. Just a general rule most people follow is change the oil after about 500-1000 miles of easy driving is all I did. Made the sure it got the way up to temp every time. I just did an autocrosss this weekend and beet on it. No issues. I broke them in with 5w-30 and then just changed to 5w-40
