Don't get me wrong turbo miata builds are cool and all but common problem fixing videos are where it's at! Love your channel man!

Javier Diaz Thanks man. I’m sure I’ll go turbo someday, but it’s important to sort out the car first. Get it to a healthy state before adding boost. I would love to see this channel become a reference channel for NA Miata owners to use for solving common issues.

Whaw , you make me really happy !! 👍👍 I have a miata from 1990 (white) . Owner since 1996 . The clear came loose last month . Not sure yet if i go to my garage to paint it , or do it myself with a roller but to save money i'm sanding down myself . My windschield trim was like yours , so now it's the time to remove it before painting . I saw your video by chance , was loiking hole week "window rubber" i see now it is " trim" . Greets from Belguim (europ)

I'm happy to hear that it helps you out. I couldn't find any videos on how to do this, so I made my own. I put an update link in the description above. Basically you need to add windshield sealant underneath the trim piece to hold it in there permanently. If you don't use it, it tends to lift up. I picked up a small tube of 3M windshield sealant at AutoZone to finish the job. It now looks like a professional did it!

I have a question. I removed the bottom trim piece from the windshield to repaint it. I needed to replace the gasket that runs along that trim piece. I bought that and put the gasket on my repainted trim piece. But now when i screw the trim piece back in, the gasket and trim dont hug the window. There are gaps. Can you please tell me what am i doing wrong? Thanks

I am 100% using my iPhone to record and edit. I film with my iPhone and then edit that saved video with iMovie (built into every iPhone for free). Any special effects are with various video apps on my iPhone. If I can do it...I know you can too :)

has anyone been able to replace the weatherstripping at the top of the windshield where it connects to the top? I've noticed I'm getting air flow through there, haven't driven in rain but water will probably leak
@BecauseMiata
6 жыл бұрын
I have a recent video where I installed a new soft top. Towards the end, I show how you can adjust the latches that tighten the top to the weatherstrip that you're talking about. Maybe try tightening your latches first to see if it helps. But if your weatherstrip has visual and physical signs of being worn out (dried out, cracked, ripped, etc), then it's easily replaceable. Try adjusting the latches first though. Good luck!

Congrats on the M edition! Those are really cool! Our family has had multiple Miatas over the years, and one of them was an auto trans. Still fun to drive, but not quite as fun as manual. There's just nothing like rowing through the gears. No worries though...you'll still enjoy it for sure! However...if you ever decide that you want a manual, some people have managed to convert their ATX to an MTX. Google it for the details. Cheers!

Hi Can you tell me if it fits nb ?
@BecauseMiata
5 жыл бұрын
I really do not know for sure, but I would suspect that it is very similar. I found an NA workshop manual online (free) and found all the parts required. I then sourced all the parts from various online dealers. So I guess step 1 would be to find an online PDF for the NB workshop manual, and see if the parts are the same as what I've used in the video. Regardless, the procedure should be very similar to what I did.

@BecauseMiata

I had a few issues at first because I didn't use the windshield adhesive under the trim. I added a part 2 update link in the description above. I basically pulled off the main trim piece and added the adhesive (caulk) along the channel before re-adding the trim piece. It's been several months, and absolutely NO issues since. I'm very pleased with the results.

I took mine off and the metal is round...there's no area for the trim piece to go
@BecauseMiata
6 жыл бұрын
If you took your trim piece off, then there should be a place for it to go. If there wasn't a place for it to go, the original one wouldn't have fit in there in the first place. Are you sure that you removed all of the old trim? When I pulled on mine, some of the trim broke off and was stuck down in the groove; I used needle nose pliers to pull it out. If I hadn't pulled out the broken pieces in the groove, my new trim piece wouldn't have fit either. If you're able to take pics and post them online somewhere, I can try to help. Do you know if your windshield is the original from the factory, or has the glass been replaced before? I've heard of installers putting that trim piece in as they are setting the glass, and maybe one side has a larger gap than the other. If there is a small gap, maybe try working in the trim with a flat head screwdriver to push it down into the gap.
