As a famous tourist spot, expect prices in boracay to be a bit expensive. Taxes and rent are higher so it will reflect on the merchants' goods. The price of being famous. Try to haggle as much as you can. A lot of those sellers will be more than willing to give you a good deal.

Please take note that price may vary from place to place. usually, Boracay is a bit more expensive compared to others. The old man offering scuba diving services might be an agent only. He might receive 300 pesos (I don't know how much really per customer he gets but definitely they are all on a commission basis only). So the owner will receive at least 1500. But he has his crews, life savers, a boat to bring you to the site, a store to rent per month, tax for his business, etc. Do the math, how much is the profit for the owner. In my opinion, the price is just fair. The old man might have a big family to serve. If you get his offer, unintentionally you help him for sure he will be happy too. What you can't buy is the happiness you get from the experience and the feelings of that poor man( from the thumbnail it looks like he is the one who scammed you). You have two choices, either you grab his offer or go to the store directly for the right price. Scam word is not the right term especially if you did not pay anything that gets you annoyed. Maybe I'm shocked! or I'm surprised! that would be fine. Please remember Boracay is a tourist destination, it might give a bad impression to the other tourist as well. Please tell the viewers who scammed you. I am one of your followers and I like your blogs, but the title is just not fair. Just saying

I just wanna say one thing... If someone is afforded to travel mean, nothing is expensive as long as they can afford it. Those people are also making living. There is always supply and demand. Before we travel, it is our responsibility to do a little bit of research. As long as things are within the expected range then it is ok... We can't make someone's life difficult for those who are surviving for their own living and for their family. I am just sharing my perspective. Either I spend it if I can afford it or I won't buy a thing if I don't afford it. That's all. The best is to make friends with a local and things will get easier. I always manage to make a friend locally before I travel overseas or sometimes online. That will make my traveling experience better, especially the food tour. I had a chance to try real local foods. Because locals know how to order the food and customised them the way they want it.

I'm a Filipino but seeing the price over 100pesos in Boracay, is a little bit much expensive maybe because it is a tourist spot? I prefer stay in a house of a friend there if I have or find cheaper apartment no need to buy food outside just buy ingredients and raw fish or meat then cook it myself while enjoying the view in Boracay.

If you want to do activities in Boracay go direct to the owner or place. ..do not talk to other person or people It's 30 percent cheaper It's more expensive in Boracay especially beside the beaches because of their rent of the established is expensive

Yeah, every thing is expensive in boracay. I'm a tourist guide for korean guest before for 5 years in boracay, and I can tell that staying their as tourist is like expending 2x the spend in other places in the Philippines.Other people take advantage of foreigners especially first time visitors in boracay by overpricing. Take care! 😏

so one of the best options to bring down the prices in boracay is to connect the island to the mainland by a connecting bridge, so the cargo ship will lose its cut and win-win for the people, hope the philippine government will do this, but not easy, cause the ruling class of oligarchs over there in boracay will move heaven and earth not to allow this, thanks for the wonderful coverage 123Japan. --- love from christian friends here in the us and israel.

In Cebu, you can get all this views and beautiful beaches for a cheaper prices. Sadly, Boracay is overrated and overly exploited by peddlers.
