I've got a soft spot for the Buick Nailhead engines. I got my 1st car in 1982 when I was 15 years old, it was a nice green 1966 Buick Wildcat sedan and it had the 401 nailhead engine and 3 speed automatic transmission. My dad had bought that Buick brand new and a few years after he owned it he sold it to a 'friend' on payments who crashed it in the 1st week he owned it and after that he just parked it on his farm and never paid dad another payment on it. So in 1982 my dad decided it was time to go take the car back... We used dad's welding truck, it had gin poles on it and it all happened quick, dad asked him if he intended on paying for the car, the guy said no so we hooked it up and towed it home. It took me about 1/2 an hour to get her running and wow that car had a lot of power! The crash damage was that the guy hit a tree and it needed a whole front end but it could still drive. I was a kid and when dad wasn't home I'd sneak the car out and play around on the back roads like the Duke boys haha! When I was 16 I ended up taking the body off the chassis and mounting a 36 Chevy truck cab to the Buick chassis and wow with barely any weight I was the fastest thing around! Those nailhead engines are a powerful and reliable engine and to this day I won't turn one away.

I got goes to her. Dad was a member of the local street rods. I used to go to meets with him . The club was in a parade once it was on my birthday . It was so cool I was 8 years old . Ever since then I wanted a Hot Rod. Thanks Dad I think you would be proud of how I have her looking on a poor man's budget.

Cool rods just get cooler! I once bought a junkyard 289 to swap into my first 65 Mustang. Even after having to modify and swap water pump, bell housing and several brackets, I had that thing on the road in three days. I was shocked after static timing it and turning the key. It roared to life on the first crank! Back in the poor days, these were great successes. Your videos bring back my youth!

I like your dad. Besides being a cool car guy with cool rides....The main reason is he has two old Fords and neither have an orange lump sbc in them. Anyone who digs nailheads, Olds, or Pontiac V8s is cool in my book. I have only seen nailheads in two Deuces, your dad's and one in Nebraska. I crack the biggest smile ever when I see an old rod without a boring, seen it eleventytrillions times, unimaginative, pos orange lump in it.
