No one suggests that it can outperform separates, each costing twice as much as the Atom. So he concedes that it’s a high quality one box package, then sets out to rubbish every single element because in audiophile Nerd-land, there is always something better. If you want every single part of your Headphones package to be the very best that money can buy, you buy a load of separates, spend ridiculous sums on interconnects and keep tweaking or you buy the Atom HE, curl up on the sofa and just enjoy the music.

You mentioned how well the ls50 paired with the pma-a110, and I was wondering if you had any similarly positive experiences pairing that amp with larger speakers, like the kef reference. Thanks. Enjoy your videos 👍

Hi there, I would not recommend the Denon PMA A110 with KEF Reference series. The combo was a little too smooth/warm for my liking and I typically like warm side of the spectrum…just too much for me in this case😊 PMA-A110 is a great match with LS50 and my old R700’s though!

Your a hard man to please! In my view Naim all in one's are the upgrade path from, say, top Ruark all in one's, in the UK at least. It's were I would go. Always a bigger fish. And then a bigger one, etc. I spent 50/50 Daps/hi fi time so am in no rush.

For use with computer audio, how would the Naim Uniti Atom sound compared to a Asus Xonar Essence STX II sound card? or would I better off getting a Sennheiser HDV 820 dac/amp instead?

I have quite a collection of Music that I’d like to stream from my NAS to my PMA-110, that I am currently using as a headphone amplifier so not to fight with my neighbors. I could not understand if you connected the Unity to the PMA-110, so to use its quad dac configuration, or else … also, would you recommend the Cambridge CXN V2 instead of the Unity, as input streamer to the PMA-110? I tried the direct digital (USB) connectivity from my MacBook into the DAC of the PMA-110 but was not impressed of the output with both my Sennheiser 6xx and Beyerdynamic DT880 600 Ohms edition. Maybe I am also not using the right headphones?

Hi, I think the PMA-A110 is a fantastic integrated amplifier for some speaker pairings but a “good” headphone amplifier. I found that it paired well with my Senn HD650’s but I much prefer my other gear for headphone listening: Sennheiser HDV820 + Meze Empyrean with an old Parasound D/AC 1600 or Chord Qutest DAC. To directly answer one of your other questions…I did not connect the Uniti Atom HE directly to the Denon. I view the PMA-A110 as an excellent speaker amp (with the right speakers) and the Uniti Atom as a great headphone amp.

Hi mate, just wondering if you ever got around to doing a quick review on the Sony TA-ZH1ES. I saw it sitting on your desk in some of your older videos. What are your thoughts on how it sounds? You should post more often, you give off a sincere and chill vibe! Thanks.

I see it says usb on the pma a110 which means you're using its dac. how would you compare the digital sections of the uniti atom and a110? (denon fanboy to an extent) beautiful setup btw, a joy for my eyes and thanks for a very informative video

Thanks! I didn’t directly compare them as I was using them for different purposes (Denon + LS50 and Atom + Empyreans) but I think the digital section of the Denon might be a tiny bit better. It is also a fantastic device that I’ll likely post a video about at some point. With that said, like with most things, equipment matching is super important to get the most out of it.

Not sure what you mean? Because I don’t have thousands of dollars of room treatment? I have one nearfield setup (LS50), a couple of midfield setups (Ref 3 and ls3/5a) and a couple of more normal distance setups (Ref 5 and r700’s). They all provide great listening enjoyment but in slightly different ways.

Hello, thanks a lot for this very good video. I’m thinking of buying a Naim HE to replace my streaming set up (a Bluesound Node 2i and Chord Qutest DAC) and my headphone amp (Lehmann Audio Linear). I want to use the Naim both as a stand alone component but also as part of my current system (which includes a Rega Elicit amp, Rega Apollo CD player, Rega Planar 3 turntable and Spica TC 60 speakers). Do you think the Naim would be an upgrade to my current streaming and headphone set up? How does its DAC compare to the Qutest? Kind regards, Ignacio

I would recommend buying the Atom from somewhere that allows returns so that you can give it a try but have the option to send it back if you are not happy. I am very familiar with the Node 2i and Qutest and would personally choose the Atom over that setup because I could listen for many hours with the slightly more relaxing sound coming out of the Atom. (Using the Wi-Fi connection) hope that helps!

One more thing to keep in mind is the synergy with your headphones - so another reason to purchase from somewhere that allows returns.

I found a benefit to running a separate streamer into the Naim (Coax) but the Wi-Fi connection on the Naim wasn’t bad. I’d say give it a try and let your ears be the judge.

When comparing the Naim Uniti Atom and Marantz SR8015, it becomes evident that the Naim sound is less natural and more harsh. However, it provides better isolation for the instruments, thereby aiding in achieving greater clarity for each instrument in the song, reducing crosstalk between the sounds of the instruments, as well as providing greater resonance and extension to the sound of the instruments. As for the Marantz instrument, it is characterized by providing a natural sound without harshness, but it does not provide an echo or extension for the instruments like the Naim does, and it filters and isolates the instruments less clearly, causing some interference between them.
