All Polynesian tribes and cultures have their own version of the haka. The mouri version is more recognizable because they are more open with it... like at rugby tournuments and other sports events. The Hawaiian version witch you just saw was actually outlawed by missionaries because the pagen ritual and martial art that was practiced with it was to extreme for the U.S. military to handle. So it had to be practiced in secret deep in the forset or mountain.

Hau’oli Kamano actually dawg, Maroris came from Hawaii, also our "Haka" or Ha'a was recorded in British Soldiers journal when Kamehameha and his Warriors swept Cpt Cook and his men It is kinda weird though seeing the Hawaiian Ha'a, im just not use to it.

Were not trying to be like them, were trying to show our mana in our war dance called "The Ha'a" . It might not be as strong as the world's famous/well known "Haka" but one day it will be just as good as there's. If the U.S didn't take over all the Hawaiian islands, we would probably have a more better and stabled "Ha'a" like the Māori people. This is just my opinion so don't come for me😂 Mahalo and Malama Pono, (Thank you and Take Care)

Maybe you should be a Kia’i since you know what it truly means to be Hawaiian. No be part of the problem. If you don’t agree with the style just move on. The most toxic thing you can do is put other Hawaiians down for trying to water our cultural seed. Can you teach anybody any hula, any mele? Or how’s about being a original and make something of your own?. If you ain’t got anything nice to say just Pa’a ka waha. Oh sorry, just in case you don’t understand your native tongue, that means to “shut your damn mouth”. Uplift our kanaka. Disgraceful attitude “George”.
