Part of why I love One Piece is that, despite it being incredibly cheesy and campy, it actually leans into it with full sincerity. And that sincerity is also what makes Luffy as a character so enjoyable and endearing and not just obnoxious and annoying.

As a Sanji fan, I always thought it was quite interesting how similar Sanji is to Luffy (having both their father figures lose a limb for them & the belief in something intangible). I quite like the idea that, while Zoro embodies the Pirate King part of Luffy's dream, that requires strength & ambition, Sanji embodies the other part, that requires a different type of strength - continuing to believe in something ethereal, despite many people challenging your dream telling you to give it up.

While this isn't entirely wrong, the last part of your comment is still something embodied by Zoro rather than Sanji. Because Sanji is the one who talked about giving up the dream and survive if you are up against someone like Mihawk. In terms of believing in a dream and pursuing it no matter what, no matter who tells you it's impossible, no matter who tells you to give it up, Zoro is much closer to Luffy than Sanji is. Because Luffy and Zoro are the same in that regard, whereas there are things worth giving up (pursuing) your dream to Sanji. So in any characteristic you mentioned, Zoro is much closer to Luffy than Sanji is (and that's the case overall). The main parallel you named - both had the person they look up to and admire sacrifice a limb for them, and both dreamt of something no one knew for sure even existed. In fact I'd say Sanji is someone who partly embodies characteristics from Luffy/Zoro and partly from other crew members - other goals, other jobs, more "human"

LA Sanji way more jacked than real Sanji. Taz is a fucking legend. Trained hours upon hours for a couple of years to be able to do justice to Sanji's fighting style and he took sessions as an actual chef. As in, he actually learnt cooking skills (and according to the other cast members his cooking did improve) rather than just rehearsing the movements. The cast overall is so freaking good. Inaki Godoy just is Luffy, Emily Rudd I didn't even recognise at first even though she's been a celebrity crush of mine for a while (and a massive One Piece fan), Mackenyu is a HUGE One Piece fan and actually studied swordsmanship even before. When asked "Which move of scene X was the most difficult", he replied with "none of them were difficult". Usopp's actor (the name escaped me) did really well getting the character across, too!

They dynamic between the crew members and their dreams is so interesting! It doesn't fully come through in the LA because parts have been left out, but when you think about it, everyone is a dream. But how much they value that dream and how much they are willing to sacrifice for it is a different story. If I remember correctly, Sanji was present for Zoro vs Mihawk in the anime, and he said or thought something amongst the lines of "You idiot! Throw that dream away in order to live" In short, Luffy and Zoro are willing to die for their dreams, they are willing to die trying, but they would never, ever give up pursuing them. Pursuing their dreams is the very essence of their being. Sanji was never able to let go of his dream of finding All Blue, but as we saw in that scene, he wasn't willing to die for it. Even moreso, he felt so indebted to Zeff that he never tried to pursue it until the Strawhats come and Zeff essentially told him to go follow his dream. So his dream is a big part of him, but it's not his very essence and there are bigger things than his dream to him. Usopp always told stories that were based on his dream of becoming a brave warrior of the sea, but he never recognised it or pursued it, really. Part of that was his affection for Kaya, part of it was making excuses. The fear of failure is what largely kept him away from it.

I love Sanji's goodbye in live action. But i still love more more more Sanji's goodbye in anime or manga. There is one difference that stands out the most. In live action, Sanji is on top of Merry and Zeff is below watching him leave when they say goodbye. But I have one complaint, in the manga/anime when Sanji sees the chefs eating the leftovers from their customers, Sanji got angry and said it was disgusting and then threw the leftover food in the trash. Then when he was trapped on the island with Zeff, when he saw the rotting bread (we can see this scene in Live Action) he cried, because he remembered what he did when he was on the passenger ship. Overall the flashback was pretty good, but if they hadn't cut that part, I think this flashback would have hit harder 🤧😭

One piece Being this long, it's better for YOU ( you don't lose information, and you get through it faster) and for US (seeing you reacting not just one episode, but the full opening of an arc, or the full episodes of a final fight, things like this). I"M WARNING YOU ! IF you will start One piece, it will be a huge change for you channel. You better treat it like 2 projects or smth like that, ITS A HUGE TASK AND A HUGE TURN IN LIFE. If you want to get into the One Piece anime there is something called One Pace, which condenses the anime down to cut out filler and padding. One of the reasons One Piece is so long is because of padding. Rather than do full on filler arcs it just extends the hell out downtime in episodes to fill run time. It would be far more feasible to do.

Idk if I'll get over the fact that a live action Death Note, Cowboy Bebop and even Ghost in the Shell failed but One Piece got the actual good LA adaptation. If you asked me the 1 huge anime that WOULDN'T be possible to adapt decently in live action I'd have said One Piece lmao.

It's so freaking fun to me watching every dude that reacts to this noticibly question their sexuality when they see Sanji wet and shirtless lol. I know I did and I say that loudly and proudly. Many of them hide it well, but you can still see it in their eyes. They gleam for a second. Also waaay later on in the manga you find out what Sanji went through before ending up at Baratie and it's super dark. That dude's childhood was NOT good. It's interesting how long One Piece takes to give you back stories on its main characters.

Another option would be for you guys to do arc reviews of individual arcs of One Piece

Stop asking how Zeff and Sanji got up onto the island. Rewind just a bit and the answer is right there. Never mind, you're a reaction channel. Intelligence isn't your forte.

Is that the first Volume of Invincible in the background? Who ever got that is a legend. Also yeah OnePiece is great and and I love Sanji so much.

[13:28] The stunned looks on Sam and Morgan's faces while Dani is grinning is hilarious.

38:55 Have you heard about the new One Piece anime being made while the original is still running? It’s basically going to be a reboot, most likely without any of the filler. You could react to that one while it’s airing.
