The worst thing about Start/Stop (besides the basic annoyance) is when your battery is dead, you jump start and begin on your way, BUT YOU FORGET TO TURN THE START/STOP OFF!!!!! And now, two miles down the road, you need a jump again after your vehicle "STOPS"!! Arrrrrrrrgggh!!

Great episode - I'm glad April called out her Lincoln LS ownership, that was an unexpected surprise! I owned 2 LS's (an '03 LS V8 Sport and an "04 LSE V8) and LOVED how those cars looked and drove - I bought them as used vehicles at the bottom of their respective depreciation curves, and therefore I did have to replace a transmission on one, along with the majority of plastic components on the cooling system on the other, so not entirely a trouble-free ownership experience on the back end. I enjoyed my LS's despite their flaws, even when it was time to give them up for more reliable replacements. I do credit both of those cars with beginning my journey into Lincoln ownership and I've since owned a 2014 MKZ Hybrid with the opening pano roof option (great car) and now a 2018 Continental Reserve 3.0TT (awesome car). I will also give credit to my LS ownership being a precursor to owning a platform-mate for a while as well, a 2005 Jaguar S-Type R that I saved from extinction for 2000 dollars with 178,000 miles and a ton of deferred maintenance. - Thankfully I was able to get it running and driving correctly after a tune up and transmission service. That car drove amazing and the supercharger whine was sensational, and it handled extremely well on country backroads - I do regret selling it sometimes. Maybe I'll find another example in the future that is less broken with less miles. Great channel!

The LS was my sons first car because it was the cheaper BMW clone. Bought it with 100k miles and soon found the transmission would get stuck in 3rd gear. Dealers said the LS uses internals with aluminum which makes the narrow passages wear much faster and is non repairable. Replacement was of course more than the value of the car. An expensive lesson for a first car.

Most unreliable car I owned was an '84 Camaro Z28 with the High Output motor and manual trans. I bought it new and it broke down that evening. It took the dealer over a week to fix it, but it had design problems with the engine and transmission and was a constant headache. A month after I traded it in I heard back from the dealer that the engine had blown. I have had friends and coworkers who bought GM vehicles in the '80s and most had reliability problems too.

Glitchy, crashes at times, have to touch the screen multiple times to get it to do what you want. The drivetrain is very complex and the engine and trans are not well calibrated. Very jerky at low speeds and pronounced delay when flooring it to merge into traffic. I leased it knowing it would probably grenade after the warranty expired. The problem with the new vehicles is all of the electronic gremlins that ruin the ambiance of the car. My neighbor has a year-old Audi A6, an expensive car with a lot of electronic problems. Volvo is owned by the Chinese, which should say it all. You want problems, any Volkswagen/Audi product, especially Audi, never again.

I feel sorry for the old, mid-level executive at these Company's that objected to the headlong plunge into Ev's, all the junior wanna be's ridiculing him with his school of hard knocks degree... and pushing their eco friendly world view, smiling after shutting the old codger up, and forcing him into retirement..... and as Dr Phil would say.... How's that EV thing workin out?

I just rented a Pacifica PHEV to do an office move last week. The stupid regen braking doesn't work at all and the crash avoidance braking system failed (big red lights and text message on dash) and I had to be careful when it was -14C (6F) and icy.

"UNRELIABLE CARS" aka Vehicles designed to fail so the parts departments makes bank.. wonder which ones and if these are recalls or are covered under the factory's warranty?

I had a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee that had multiple issues that the dealer could never figure out. Passenger window would roll down by itself repeatedly on trips, sunroof would not close and had to completely turn it off and back on to get it to work, gauges would just stop working then come back on randomly AND, the 5.7 HEMI would blow blue smoke on startup every so often. Dumped it obviously. Dealer and Jeep could not reconcile any of those issues. Garbage... Now a proud Toyota owner.

Listening to your new girlfriend to the show is kind of like watching the question/answer portion of the Miss America pageant. There's an attractive girl that has no idea what she's talking about, adds fake drama statements like "I'm shocked" or "that's crazy" has nothing interesting to say. Fail

Apparently, "Built Ford Tough" means nothing nowadays, they could do some upgrades here and changes there on each new F series and they still have problems. Also I'm shocked how many Jeeps get sold despite being so unreliable with that awful, ancient 3.6 still in them and the Cherokees with their horrible electronic screens going out basically crippling the vehicle functions...I'd expect nothing less from Chrysler products.

Mostly component failure. The agreed quality of mass produced cheap parts doesn't make it to the JIT production line. Quality control is supposed to be by the parts/component manufacturers. Ever ask how that got past inspection? You want cheap.
