The amp blending is excellent. Many pro's do that with different amps. Years of doodling with this. 10/4/18 one area have not been good with is a clean sound.Maybe me but so much adjustment will keep trying. The analog transtube is what the amp is all about. incredible.

I own it. He's right. There's not a tone you cannot get with this amp. It's extremely versatile. My only gripe is they didn't make a head version. By the way, the gain channel is analog in this amp, not digital. The gains sound really good and clean up nicely at lower volumes.

I have one of the original Peavey Vypyr's. The models sound amazing. I can only guess they've improved from there. Yes the pedal is nice to have but I've had no problem figuring out how to get great sounds without one. I have gigged with the amp many times and have found the versatility of the sounds to be a real plus in a band situation. I would definitely look into a Pro version if my old one ever gave out.

As the camera moves at around 4.15 you can see how good a fit the chassis is in the cab. We are talking clear air...

nice I think it's time for me to trade In my original peavy vypyr 75, and get this newer updated model. the price for this amp as of August 2015 is $599.99 but offers a lot more then my vypyr 75 does.

True, that being said though, this is a whole lotta improvement over their previous non-tube fx'y amps. Glad they're including trans tube this time, the old stuff sounded real solid state

I hear your point but remember modeling amps aren't for everyone but at the same time they are amazing..they have a slight learning curve but once you get the basics down you will love it..I was a tube man for years..I'm 46 now and after playing on a vypyr VIP 3 amp a few years back I got hooked..no pedals to buy ever again and I dial into any sound I want..i understand what your saying about just plugging in and jamming on a tube amp but with the modeling amp you can do the same but with all the effects you created ..also the vypyr pro 100 has "transtube" technology..it sounds better than a tube amp...I have had some of my friends dout this amp until they came over and heard it in person and how easy it was to use ..the 4 channels and noise gate options that you can put in any order really make this amp what it is..I know I already mentioned the TransTube technology on this amp but it's also the only modeling amp out there that has this and it sounds better than tube

+brntgrbl What happens when you need to have both a clean and a dirty sound in the same song live? You must at least have a two channel amp for live playing.
@Burnt_Gerbil

+Can Savaryego two options. one clean amp (fender usually) and one dirty amp and buy and a/b switcher. or you can do old school and use neck pickup for cleans and bridge pickup for dirty and a tube screamer.

I like peavey gear, it makes up 90% of my gear, but these vypyr amps are a mess. 1st off, they are useless without the footswitch which costs almost as much as the amp. 2nd, although it sounds good enough it is more complicated than your average multi efx pedal. I bought a vip 2 last week and had to return it. It was mostly gc's since they wouldn't give me the box or software for it cuz it was there last one. I just sat at home for hours hitting my e string while I flipped through amps and effects trying to figure how to dial them in and save them. It's not labeled clearly at all on the amp itself. I took it back. It was too much and I had way too hard of a time with gc, which is the usual. Instead I found a used peavey max 100 multi efx for 50 bucks. It works and sounds great. It's like having a bandit 112 with all the effects you need in one simple box.

what wizardry is this??? Way too many toys for this guy. Ive owned LOTS of different amps and I've owned quite a few Peavey amps but kept my XXX head, 6505 212 combo, and my older USA built bandit because i like the tones and they are SIMPLE. To me that trumps the pretty colours and fancy lights. Don't get me wrong this amp will appeal to certain people but thats the problem. I don't care how many amp models it has. In my opinion all these modelling amps are just tricks to make you "think" you need all these different sounds, thats why companies keep adding more and more features to amps. Its not about tone and quality anymore, major sell points now are how much more said amp can do compared to the competition. i would have this amp if i was still in high school and wanted to learn how to play the theme songs to all my favourite tv shows. i would definitely not gig with it because to be honest it doesn't look like it has the build quality to last very long when gigging. Peavey used to make a decent and affordable amp that wasn't outsourced that lots of big named musicians like EVH, ZZ Top and etc used to use and now Peavey is resorting to try to appeal to the wedding band crowd? Your losing steam Peavey and its quite depressing to know that i might own the last of your few good amps...
