Have a great time at the show Chuck! Like you say, just playing the Fazioli would be something special. Can't wait to see your feedback after the show. That will make for some awesome vids. Stay safe out there!!

Hi Chuck. Came across your various videos regarding powering up with portable battery. I'm planning on investing in busking gears(keyboard+amp). Lookimg for 88 weighted keys but of course I have to carry them in public transport by myself. Should I just get the Casio PX-S3100 for its portability and maybe a cube street amp? Would like your opinion on this.

I'd go for the PX-S3100 or other battery-operated 88-keyboard along with a battery-operated PA - but NOT the CUBE, those are built for guitars and sound horrible with keyboards. Check out my video on the CUBE vs the KC110 battery operated amps at kzitem.info/news/bejne/2GuowKJ3hmOJiYo --- and of course if you're in the mainland USA, check out www.PianoManChuck.com for deals on Casio and other gear.

@@PianoManChuck thanks for the swift reply sadly I'm in Asia HAHAHA. But I'll take a look at the speakers
@PianoManChuck
Жыл бұрын
Definitely check out the speakers but go for 'open box' or even used - that will save you a fortune on them. Go for the KC-110, not the newer more expensive KC-220 as their virtually identical. Also, if you're really looking to cut down on weight, check out Korg's Liano - a 13.2 lb 88-key battery operated keyboard with built-in speakers. I just did a review on that at kzitem.info/news/bejne/xaCLnIpjjIp2onY

@@PianoManChuck lovely info. A quick search and my country only sells kc60/80 and kc200/220. But there's also some behringer amplifiers as well (k900 k450 kxd12/15)
@PianoManChuck

The KC-110 and KC-220 are the only battery-operated models in the KC series. Behringer would also be a good choice but the models you referenced don't run on batteries.

I saw your Nord Piano 5 and I was thinking "Hold on, now! They just came out with the '4'!" Stage 4, T. STAGE 4. It's nice to hear the Dexibel SX8 is coming out of vaporware. If I ever get my finances squared away, I want a VPC1 and a SX8. And some killer monitor speakers.

VPC1 and SX8 would be an awesome combination! As for killer monitor speakers, check out any of the iLoud monitors (especially the new iLoud Precision series).

@@PianoManChuck Thanks for the tip. Did you do a review of the SX8 and I missed it? Your review of the SX7 was so great!

No review of the SX8... yet. I'm hoping to be able to get a hold of one at some point in the future.

@@PianoManChuck Oh, good! I thought I missed it. Your review of the SX7 was so great! I liked how you pointed out the long sustain feature. Yes, the different acoustic grands are important to know about. And the ability to import new presets/voices/whatever takes things to a new level. But the ability to tweak instruments to your heart's content is what sells this kind of thing to me.

I just received a solicitation from NAMM today. Roland, Korg, Viscount, and Behringer won't be there. Why would I want to go? Will Yamaha be there? What about Nord? It's frustrating to think that the biggest names are not going to be at a trade show that's known for them to be present. I like NAMM. I'll watch out for PianomanChuck's NAMM videos. But it's starting to look like NAMM is having less and less relevance.

Any news on Yamaha? In their press release Mar 1 it included: "This year, Yamaha will introduce breakthrough products at the show across multiple musical categories, including piano, synthesizer, winds, acoustic guitar, drums and percussion, and professional audio." I haven't been able to find any specifics so far. Thanks.

What is Roland's issue with Guitar Center?
@PianoManChuck
Жыл бұрын
There's no "issue". Roland is busy experimenting with Guitar Center by opening up a Roland Store within Guitar Center (a store within a store). Here's a link to one of their pilot stores in La Mesa, California: www.roland.com/us/roland-stores/guitar_center_la_mesa/
