About:
Persona 4, localized in the West as Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4, is the fifth game in the Persona series. The game was developed by Atlus for the PlayStation 2, and was ported to the PlayStation 3's PlayStation Store as a downloadable classic akin to Persona 3 FES, but only in North/South America.
An enhanced port of Persona 4, Persona 4 Golden, was released for the PS Vita / PS TV & Steam. It has many new features over the original Persona 4 and re-did certain enemy stats, dungeon aspects, voices for Chie and Teddie, among others.
As with Persona 3, the game is a turn-based RPG akin to most games of the Shin Megami Tensei series, although this game's plot is rather unique compared to other games in general and in its series as it is based off a murder mystery.
Persona 4 follows a group of high school students dealing with a mysterious TV channel dedicated to distorting and exaggerating the truth of who they are and their identities. A string of bizarre murders related to the TV channel begins shaking their once peaceful town. They explore the mysterious world inside the TV and perform rescue missions in order to save its victims from death. Only by looking past what is on the screen, finding and evaluating the truth among a myriad of lies can they hope to find the serial killer and save their town.
The protagonist of Persona 4, canonically known as Yu Narukami starting with its use in Persona 4 Arena, is a transfer student at Yasogami High School, and resides for a year at Inaba, a rural town.
Nanako is a little girl with brown hair tied into short pigtails by pink ribbons and brown eyes. Normally, she is seen wearing a white turtleneck under a sleeveless pink dress with two shades of red, white socks and pink penny loafers. In summer, however, she wears a light pink and white sleeveless shirt with a pink skirt. Along with the rest of the girls, Nanako sports a kimono at the summer festival.
Despite never being seen without her pigtails in Persona 4, Persona 4 The Animation depicts Nanako with her hair down while sleeping, and also revealed that she had her hair shoulder length. In the new true ending in Persona 4 Golden she is shown with longer hair.
In Persona 4: Dancing All Night, Nanako wears an outfit identical to Kanami's dance outfit, but the minor difference is her ribbon resembles a bow tie, her collar shirt has puffy short sleeves, a red, yellow and blue strap wristband on her right wrist, red ribbon on her right leg, puffy white socks and red shoes.
Yosuke has slightly unkempt fawn colored dyed hair and brown eyes. At both his school and inside the Midnight Channel, he wears his Yasogami High school uniform, along with a white V-neck T-shirt with long sleeves and a pair of orange headphones (save for two occasions, he is never seen without them). Inside the Midnight Channel, Yosuke also wears orange glasses. His shoes are gray and white with cream-colored soles.
In summer, Yosuke wears his school summer uniform, along with another V-neck T-shirt with short sleeves. On weekends, he wears a white jacket with an orange V-neck shirt, dark green pants and brown combat boots. During weekends in the summer, he wears a white V-neck T-shirt with red motifs on the front, red cargo pants and brown shoes.
In Persona 4 Golden, Yosuke gains a few new outfits. In winter, he wears a snowsuit with a white hoodie, orange goggles around his neck with a light blue scarf, a white pullover with a red snow jacket, black gloves, green camouflage pants and yellow shoes. During colder winter days at school, he wears a sky blue pullover jacket underneath his school uniform. During the new epilogue, he has a different hairstyle and wears a hot pink T-shirt with thin white stripes and aqua jean pants.
Adachi seems to be a cheerful and jovial detective displaying textbook incompetence, such as threatening to throw up upon being asked to investigate a murder scene. He often serves as the story's comic relief, and tends to make terrible unfunny jokes and puns that only he would enjoy. He jokingly refers to himself as the "slave" of Dojima, complaining of the workload that his partner piles on him. Adachi is shown to be rather lazy, even encouraging Nanako to take shortcuts in her homework. Adachi also often accidentally (and sometimes purposely) blurts out the police investigation results to the Investigation Team, much to his own chagrin. He can be seen hanging around the Junes Department Store, usually "killing time."
