Alibi in Ashes did a really good job at making my blood boil when I was in junior high. I’ve calmed down significantly since then and I suppose the plot of the game is decent. But personally, I would’ve preferred a story where Nancy uncovers some corruption/scandal in the River Heights police force. I mean think about it: 1. An innocent civilian is arrested on false charges, 2. Everyone on the force seems to turn a blind eye to Toni and Brenda despite their obviously suspicious behavior and shady history. 3. Chief MGuiness hires a ten-year-old detective to do work for him. Do these not sound like big ol’ red flags? Love your vids BTW

Phantom of Venice easily could have had everyone as the culprit each playing different roles. The story would need to be modified of course to involve Colin and margarita a bit more but it would have been interesting

I am incredibly impressed you did all of that without notes. Even down to the order of the games. Bravo. Also, I think it would have worked if all the girls of Waverly were at fault. They did it a little, but if they had really leaned into it, it could have been cool. They wouldn't even have to all be in on it together. They know what they did, but not anyone else. Or they could all be in it together as part of the secret society thing 🤷🏻♀️

I think danger by design could’ve been interesting if dieter and minette had been working together and he was playing up their breakup to divert attention from that. I actually like sympathetic villains, but I do wish they’d do more endings like stay tuned for danger where Nancy got to guess who the culprit was and give her reasoning

yup i love that elliot chen was the culprit in the haunted carousel it was also the first game i actually got to play to the end my first 2 games i played i didn't get to the end cuz one i was playing with a best friend who became my ex-best friend in like the middle of the game and also the game cd-rom started glitching and not working right and then the 2nd was too scary for me so i didn't play it and then i found the haunted carousel and started loving it and then i got stuck and found your walkthru for it which is how i came upon your channel and this was back in i believe 2009 maybe?! i had a different channel then tho and that channel got hacked and deleted so it's not longer subscribed to you, but this new one i'm on since 2015 is subbed and i still love watching your walkthrus just for fun so i can see other nancy drew or mystery games that don't require internet to play them i really live for that because when i would visit my grandparents i could bring a cd-rom and play it while my parents talked with my grandparents and not be bored and you helped out so much on the games i played of nancy drew i'm thankful i found you cuz i would get stuck alot in the haunted carousel and treasure in the royal tower ;) you're awesome michael to make these walkthrus and other videos, keep it up buddy!

Okay, here’s the thing about the Haunting of Castle Malloy: if Donal was the culprit, it would not have gone down well. Ireland and England have a dark history- England had used Ireland as a bread basket for centuries and the English government is in large part to blame for the devastation of the potato famine. Donal has lived through Ireland fighting tooth and nail for its freedom, for its independence. His dislike for Matt is to make us aware of that bloody history. I think it would have been upsetting for Irish fans- myself an Irish American- if Donal were made the culprit. It would been all because of his resentment toward the English in general as opposed to any real personal issues with Matt. It’s really complicated, and having Fiona be the culprit because she’s a confused old woman is honestly for the best. She didn’t see an English man, all she saw was a person to be around.

The idea with Louis Chandler is that he got Nancy kicked out, not for looking at a book in a library, but for looking at a book that was locked in his briefcase. This is supposed to prove that Nancy broke into his briefcfase, which is sort of a good idea... But not really. Even if he's had that book in his case since the game started, how can he know that no other book in the library mentions it? Or that Nancy, perennial snoop that she is, didn't learn it somewhere else. I guess the idea is that he's paranoid so he assumes she MUST have broken into his briefcase, even if the evidence doesn't quite prove that. So that works... Except that he also has to convince Rose that Nancy broke into his briefcase. It's a little dubious, but it's such a minor problem, easily avoided, or Second Chanced, that it doesn't hurt much.
@GraemeCree
Жыл бұрын
My reading of the Louis puzzle is that Louis was paranoid, and took Nancy's statement as proof that Nancy broke into his briefcase. And, although the evidence doesn't quite prove that, he told Rose, Rose asked Nancy, and Nancy told the truth rather than lie about it.

I thought that Jane was the appropriate culprit for the Clock story. After all, when you’re dealing with missing jewelry, she is the best culprit out of the characters available. It wouldn’t make sense for Mr Topham to have stollen her jewelry, since he already owns everything he could possibly want. Jane, however, does seem to be the appropriate villain, especially with nothing violent ever happening in the story. I will say that the banker would pose as an interesting villain, with his bank becoming bankrupt. It would have been interesting to see him turn into the villain and stealing the jewelry once his bank funds were becoming low. However, once he made himself out to be a friendly banker, it had to be Jane.

I thought message in a haunted mansion initially had 3 culprits. Abby, Charlie and Louis. So all but one. I thought those 3 were working together to get the mansions $1 million insurance, or just the mansion itself. I figured they hoped the ghost would scare rose running out of the mansion only to never return so then they could have it for themselves, then start the fire so they could receive the insurance and split it.

Silent Spy was probably one of the hardest plots to follow in the ND series… all to lead to a bad culprit reveal. Puzzles were complicated, story lines jumped back and forth from past to present, and (like Michael said) the culprit reveal didn’t really do anything

I feel like in SCK and SCK Remastered, if we exclude Mitch Dillon and Detective Beech, all 4 students could have been the culprits. I think this would have been a really cool ending, especially for SCK Remastered. Also in Curse of Blackmoor Manor, I feel like Jane and Ethel could have both been the culprit.
