Very interesting that the song was written by a dude and then gender flipped to carry a sentiment of empowerment rather than aggression/domination. Same thing with RESPECT written by Otis Redding. There are many conclusions one could draw about why that is; it at least demonstrates that men and women have similar desires and feel similar pain in a relationship, though the means of expression is generally unbalanced.

Rick Albee “Downtown” featuring Petula Clark and the soundtrack of “The Graduate” songs by Simon and Garfunkel and Cat Stevens, I think, But if not, soundtrack of “Harold and Maude” which is all Cat Stevens and both were counterculture films with modern (of that era) music that not only worked, really imprinted the films. Both GREAT, funny, political, disturbing films. A young Dustin Hoffman, a gorgeous Katherine Ross, and Ann Bancroft as the femme fatale homewrecker Mother! But really do some early, light Simon and Funkel: “Cecilia,” “Kodachrome.” THAT had a great intro lyric!!! YOU name it!

I don’t watch a lot of reaction videos in fact I’m only subscribed to one other reaction channel. I came across your channel yesterday and I’m really trying to catch up. We probably don’t have much in common but I love rush Rage Against The Machine and tool. Music can bring people together. Seems like a lot of folks are getting further apart these days. Anyway listening to your channel on my road trip the last couple of days has been a nice break from some of the craziness in the world. I appreciate your love for music and willingness to try different kinds of music as well 👍

ah. im so jealoussss i just have ZERO interest in "twerking" you are so lucky you experienced such times when popular dance was way more an intricate artform vs. today. even while the moves back then conveyed a sexual innuendo it was done in a cleverly suggestive way vs. today's....... "wham bam bam bam bam" i mean no mistaking what twerking is alluding to lol really takes the magic out of "love-making" but to each his own i suppose.

Nancy is a class act all the way! She did a duet with her Dad Frank entitled "Somethin' Stupid" which is really good. She also recorded some music with a guy who wrote "Boots" and some of her other hits and also produced many of her records, a guy by the name of Lee Hazelwood. Check out "Some Velvet Morning" or "Ladybird". Classic music! Love Nancy!
