Mostly plains indian outfits. Given with Tribal blessings. Its all they have left! Pow Wows are intertribal by nature. All tribes welcome. Its a time for new people and those rediscovering who they are to learn. Yes i recognize the songs and danced to the same

My paternal grandmother’s lineage traced us back to this beautiful tribe. I’m a VanDerZee (Dutch for man of the sea). We settled in Kingston NY and other parts of Mass. thanks for sharing. Shame on the Puritans and the Crown.

Remember the buffalo soldiers were at Wounded Knee. Tulsa oklahoma is built over a native American Creek tribe that was massacred, to create black Wallstreet, but we don't recognize this, or how buffalo soldiers spent 20 years of war with natives, putting our children in boarding schools, and covering up our lands to call there own, wonder how many native graves and spiritual spots were covered over in Tulsa.

Every pow wow video on You Tube shows the same costumes, dances, chants, and drums for Indians (no matter what tribe). And the curious things is that it all is the stereotypes of so-called native Americans - One would think that these tribes wouldn't promote everyone looking and acting alike. Remember when TV depicted Indians and they got all upset because everyone looked and acted alike? I guess the Cowboys actually won.

This comment is ignorant. you don’t fully understand the culture and cannot recognize the differences between tribes customs, languages and dances. Yes we are similar but we are not the same. I never heard of a Cherokee trading wampum. SMH.

@@Narragansett1 "you don’t fully understand the culture and cannot recognize the differences between tribes customs, languages and dances." You are correct. But the reason is similar to a discussion of whether McDonald's hamburgers have more sesame seeds on the buns than Wendy's. Perhaps the more honest discussion is WHY I get that impression. Obviously most people are biased in favor of their own interests. So each club favors their own "club". "Yes we are similar but we are not the same." In this case "similar" is virtually the "same". "I never heard of a Cherokee trading wampum." Well, this comment is ignorant. Google "Cherokee trading wampum" and you'll happy to know that your ignorance will be corrected.
