Great episode a Brucie bonus episode for me. ( I thought I had seen this one ) I thought you was further along near to my favourite episode, the one with a river and a weir in high flood. Everywhere was red and you could go no further for a few days.

I am becoming more and more convinced that shopping trolleys and baskets grow in water, and they get harvested by supermarkets. And another silly comment. The things on poles in the fields were air traffic control towers for the local birds. Of course Michael is teasing you. He's your husband, it's his job!

They are martin houses which are a type of swallow and said to never land much on the ground and like heights. We have the all over America and with the tall pole it limits predator access. It’s like a small city in there!

Hey Jackie, i know you love seeing the birds on your travels. Thought I'd mention a great free app I've been using called Merlin. Once downloaded you press sound ID and it records any bird song and tells you what they are, it works great👍. Just thought I'd mention it to you and all that watch your wonderful channel, atb Dixie❤

WELL...I can't say I've seen a pheasant (of all things) walking about ANYWHERE. We've got Crows, Pigeons, Starlings, more Crows, a few Mourning Doves, more Pidgeons, still MORE Crows, a few Ring-Tailed Hawks, some Falcons, and more crows...

The fire beacons were erected in fields up and down the country and were lilt simultaneously to celebrate the jubilee.I don’t think any owls were involved.!!!!!

Hi Patricia. Thanks for your comment. We did see a beacon on the Grand Union canal but they were cages not boxes which leads us to suspect they are owl boxes. But who knows? 👍❤️

Heading into Leicester … I usually get excited, when I’m heading out. Never had any plans to go near Leicester on my boat. But if you are, I recommend your moor well away before you do, then set off at 4am to beat the crack addicts!

Hi. Thanks for your comment. We actually moored in a really safe and decent place in Leicester as you saw towards the end of the video. We had no probs at all there As you will know, every boater has there own story about places based on their own knowledge but we have to say we were fine and the mooring we chose was safe and secure. 👍🤣

That lock gate at Frog Island has been a problem for a long while, why the CRT cant get it sorted.....we had difficulty with it early last year and if I'm ever in the city i often walk from West Bridge to there and helped numerous boaters having trouble with the gate.

You need some people to clean and clear the rubbish that get throw into water out of order the people that do it. There going to be real hot weather in Aug to the middle of sept so make sure you both drink lots of water at that time. Love the views and the video

That gate in Leicester is a nightmare, we came across a single-handed boater who had been in there 2 hours, it took four of us to open it, glad we had enough crew aboard. Hottest day last year we came down Foxton Locks, CRT volunteers would only supervise because of the heat, again glad there were three of us.

It must be hard sometimes that you don’t have your own personal space like in a house but either it would make your marriage stronger and learn to get on with each other in a small Space once again I just love narrow boats. I just think that be ideal to live on you can travel around if you don’t like your neighbours or where you’re living you just move on. Keep up the good work. Hi guys, I've finally researched Border Reivers. My grandmother was a direct descendant of a Scottish Border clan, the Armstrong's (this is all I know about her) After researching the name of your narrowboat I now know something of our family history. Thanking you both so very much❤

The guy we cruised by on the tow path mentioned that Border Reiver was a 1960's motor racing team, we didn't know that... you learn such interesting facts don't you. @@cruisingontheborder the first I'd heard of the Border Reivers was when I was a young motor racing fan and read a biography of the late great Jim Clark, a driver from the borders who drove for the team Border Reivers before moving on to become world F1 champion with Lotus. I later discovered that they were bandits from the borders, with bit of a Robin Hood mythology.

Good Day Jackie & Michael, just seen your latest adventure on the canals. I have to say, not ever been on a narrow boat, you both really do have extensive knowledge of the Lock system on the various canal system. Do you live on the boat even in the winter? Love your Vids keep sailing.

Hi 👋 great to hear from you and love the questions. There are over 2,500 miles of canal and inland waterways to travel on, think we’ve only scratched the surface. Enough to keep us going for years. Many of the canal have extensive periods of maintenance and repair from October to March so it can be difficult we often use winter to catch up on chores, visit family and friends and take a little winter break. Keep watching lots more adventures to come 💕
