That’s why I try sooooo hard to stay out of the comment section on videos, ppl are always serving “subliminal” shady comments no one asked for. As a blk woman who loves & has been wearing makeup for many years, I could only go to MAC for just about everything. Most blushes, highlighters, face powders don’t show up on my skin-tone. Foundations washed me out & made my skin muddy. So I KNOW folks ain’t complaining over shade ranges, when for YEARS it was hard for ME to find anything that fit my skin tone. I didn’t start a crusade, it is what it is. Everything was made for lighter skin-tones let’s not act like this is a new “oppression” sheesh! We all know shade ranges aren’t always the best & don’t think blk owned business aren’t going to make sure blk ppl can wear their makeup. That’s the whole point. Ain’t that many blk owned businesses anyway. Let these happy, unproblematic KZitemrs live, Reddit & Twitter are open to any & all comments & complaints.

Thank you to those that get it. And where are these “comments I’m seeing”…….I see them in every comment section on all the videos I watch. Disparaging ppl, using race, politics, finances to shame ppl. This is a beauty space. There are plenty other platforms to talk about all that other stuff. The internet is causing much harm to ppl. The protection of a screen & keyboard shields ppl & increases courage to hurt others. Take care, stay safe, & God bless ❤️

I watch all your videos, you’re my favorite beauty KZitemr. Thank you for turning the lights down in this video. When the video first started I thought woah you look like a ghost and I couldn’t see your makeup other than your eyeshadow. The footage on your balcony shows your real skin color which I realize now we never see in your videos. And then when you returned to the studio afterwards, that should be the setting for your lights which is even darker than when you first dimmed the lights at the beginning of the video. People of color need special lighting so their skin is shown accurately. Please don’t whitewash your tan skin in videos. - signed another tan girlie

I read that the Hourglass lipstick formulations are vegan. Traditionally the red in lipsticks come from crushed insects, this is a unique formula that doesn’t have insects. Bear in mind some premium brands adopt ethical processes so that is reflected in their costs of production so this should be recognised when comparing product pricing.

The deepest Nars shade in this powder is the same as the LYS powder, Pat McGraths deepest shade in her powder is lighter than the Nars and LYS and PMLs are black owned businesses. Woman typically use a lighter shade than their skin tones for powders. You have literally no idea what you’re talking about. I’m so tired of YTs trying to shame companies about shade ranges for deeper skin tones, do you think they’re racist or that they don’t want money from deeper skin tones? They put out products that sell, if you notice the colors on sale in base products are always the deepest shades, why do you think that is? Also the shades that always sell out are light to medium shades. Stop with your nonsense already, it’s ridiculous. If you haven’t noticed Sephora now sells a brand that has NO light shades, only deep, I’d like to see any other brand do that for light skin tones, but I guess it ok to exclude light skin tones now.
