Integrity....something everyone respects. Nas never jumped on trends or put out radio hits just for the sake of popularity and fame (Oochie Wally and You Owe Me aside). He was always true to himself as an artist and that integrity to his craft is what sets him apart from his peers.

Always amazing to me how closely Em’s lines get scrutinised. The buck/dear line was probably something he barely had to give thought to when he wrote it but fantano and other critics pick it apart as ‘annoying’. Shows you how high the bar is that Em has set for himself… other rappers inc Nas on this album have a load of flippant one liners too but nobody mentions them.

I really liked the first half of KD1 but thought that it wasn't as consistent as this. Really hoping for a third now. If nas only continued to collaborate with hit boy nas would continue to pump out great pieces of work. These last two albums have been fire.

Brother SAME. I thought Kings disease 1 was decent. Great considering it was the best album from Nas in yeeeeeeeears but not close to his best work. Kings Disease 2 on the other hand sounds like a certified classic.

Nas is still growing as an artist 30 years into the industry and people actually WANT to hear it. That's some amazing longevity. I'm glad he stopped trying to appease old school crowds and started actually taking risks of his own. King's Disease 2 is easily among some of his best work.

I think Nas is good is a perfect closer as it is more an ambiguous statement that he is in a good place and will remain here for a while. Its like a conclusion paragraph that restates the idea of the album where the album itself is a statement that “Nas is still good”. Also thought this should be a 9. Great review still 👍

J.Cole, Tyler and now Nas are in AOTY contention. Nas arguably outdid himself as well as Hit-boy proving their chemistry once again. Solid review Melon although not sure if you mentioned ‘Moments’ from the album but like ‘The Pressure’ it had a dreamy quality that softens the mood in the album.

I agree! I have these 3 as AOTY but right now my AOTY OF the 3 is Nas. This album was incredible. Hit Boy knocked it out with the production and Nas came with the heat even more than KD1! 🙏🏼🔥💯

that raindeer line in Eminem's verse was a part of a scheme he rapped around for a bunch of verses in a row, the Santa Clause and Christmas scheme which is very clever but somehow i knew some people will be bitching about it being corny
