super interesting field of study and, as always, unbelieveable engineering. #givenasamoremoney

I heard on a video nasa loaded few years ago, said that the defusion region on the magnetic region could be creating worm holes or portals only for seconds , poping in and out of existence , is that true?

I hope this mission will indeed yield data to help with fusion reactor design. We really need fusion power!

We do indeed. Though I must say of late I'm losing a bit of confidence in J.E.T. and the Tocamac designs. There are some other interesting avenues, but nothing yet looking imminently viable. We definitely could do with more funds channelled in this direction. As you say fusion would be an incredible technological leap. With electric transport and hydrogen fuel cells too, we would have it sussed.

What prevents the wire booms from coiling around the point they're attached to on the capsule? ...as they rely on centrifugal force for deployment. Where does the support come from? Will they be permanently spiral shaped? As apposed to straight out?

The possibilities of Magnetic reconnection are endless! I wonder if it would be possible to harness the released energy?

If you re phrase your question, it might be understood. Don't forget the magic of the comma. "Please, could I buy one of.....etc."

Come on ! Give these guys a break :-p They are gifted with sharp minds not with sharp tongues. I find listening to NASA engineer over news anchors/reporters much more informative.

i wonder how the satellites will maneuver with the wire booms deployed, wouldn't the sensors at the tips go out of control? maybe they retract the wires before making any thrusts
@rationalmartian

I wouldn't imagine it to be an issue. The spin throws out the wires and keeps them under slight tension, just as it would if you were spinning. And I should imagine too that they will only be making micro adjustments for position/attitude.

Since the spacecrafts are constantly rotating, It's interesting to know how the thrust is applied in the desired direction to maintain formation and how many thrusters there are on each spacecraft.

Indeed. What a sad indictment. I'm always amazed at how little interest is shown in general. One only has to look at view numbers on KZitem videos. An incredible science video might have 20 or 30 thousand views, some moronic cat video,or vacuous celebrity video can have millions.
