NASCAR has had plenty to talk about in the first five races of the 2024 Cup Series campaign, from the season-opening Daytona 500 to the three-wide photo finish at Atlanta to the wild tire falloff race at Bristol. And all of this is happening on the heels of the Netflix docuseries "Full Speed." In other words, NASCAR has momentum.
Mike Forde is the managing director of racing communications at NASCAR and talked about those first five races, including the TV ratings, when the Next Gen car will be called Gen 7, the possibility of using multiple tire compounds like F1 for races like Bristol, and NASCAR's changed mindset on fining drivers for their comments.
