Sir, these videos, particularly this one, is the kind of stock car content I’ve been looking for forever. I’ve always been fascinated with everything technical about these race cars and have always wanted to see every bit of prep that goes into getting these cars on the track. Thank you for making these videos and please keep them coming!

Me too, I like and hunt for this stuff a lot, but I'm just a below average sim racer. I once saw a woman building a hobby stock roll cage in like five ten-minute segments with a little narration and it was more instructive than anything I've ever found.

As a racer and car builder, I find your series completely fascinating. The fact that a lot of parts are interchangeable and some are just bespoke is crazy. Also enjoy the history of the parts. Super cool👍

My wife likes the part where your wife comes around and you ask her “if she’s ready for that walk” Lol, I do the same thing.. Thanks for the vids, looking forward for more.. Bryant,

My entire family and I race dirt track, super late models and winged sprints,2 years ago my husband bought a old Ryan Newman car,I love it what I don't understand is the power difference,my super late model car makes close to 1000 HP the cup car I figure around 750 HP but the Newman car just feels like a beast it seems like it has more than my dirt car,I would love to be able to take it to Daytona and run it just once but as we found out renting a NASCAR track is expensive as hell, Especially when they find out you want to run a car like that

Great video. Funny as I’ve had a reoccurring though about having a Toyota truck as a track day toy myself. So I’m guessing this truck had the Ilmor engine when it competed? Is the engine it has now a Gibbs built engine from an Xfinity car?

Love the channel. I have a 2006 Roush car that I am working on. How are the Oil lines from the Sump tank run from the tank to the pump. ? Stainless hard lines under the car or flex lines that are fire sheath covered inside the car?
@stockcarsurplus
Жыл бұрын
Great question, depends on when the car was built and what type of track it was built for. My Roush Taurus had a right side oil tank with braided -16 lines run through the car and my Roush Fusion had stainless lines under the car. There are multiple options but looking at the chassis there are usually some tell tale signs of where they were when it was built and raced.
@dustinjanes

@@stockcarsurplus Dry sump tank is on the Left or driver side. Need to see if any signs of bracket attachment are present on the underside ( stainless -16 type tubes ) Car is RK250, a Matt Kenseth road course car from 2004-2006. Seems like at Watkins Glen 2006 front end crash took place. A year later, the car shows up as the #44 Toys for Tots car - parked in front of a UPS store. Thanks to JKS motorsports, the front clip was pasted back on with holidays in the welds. Was purchased off Ebay out of the Winston Cum Museum from Bill Soper. Working on getting the front ad rear suspension sorted out, with the help of Dana Stahl - in California. A real project

Why does the oil have to be so warm before you fire the engine?
@stockcarsurplus
Жыл бұрын
Great Question Jason, the bearing clearances in the engine are tighter than a production engine. Getting everything warm allows them to expand and open up without the fear of spinning a rod or main bearing.
