Welcome to the latest series of "Hungry Brit Abroad"! In this episode our host, Rhys William, is heading to Tanjung Karang, Selangor Malaysia to visit a restaurant called "Mama's Kitchen" (Warung Ibu) and to try a special menu item called "Nasi Ambeng".
Nasi Ambeng is a dish traditionally from Java, Indonesia and due to the number of ethinic Javanese in Selangor it has become a popular dish amongst locals.
Rhys learns how to cook one of the many key ingredients in the "Nasi Ambeng" dish, which is called "Sambal Goreng" (Fried Sambal). Whilst in the kitchen, the owner of the restaurant also explains a little about the history of this dish and her experience selling it over the last 20 years.
What makes Nasi Ambeng unique is it's size, it is served on a large tray and usually feeds between 2-3 people. The question is, can Rhys finish it all by himself?
