Hi Lukas, how "representative" would you say this video is? :) I'm thinking of going to Nassfeld this year perhaps, and I love freeride, but I don't know how difficult it is to get onto these "clean slopes" without having to hike as you did in the beginning of the video. Also, the highest peaks seem to be around 2200m (from the map I saw) which I don't is too much in order to be enough additional off slope area that is steep and interesting. Any hints and help would be appreciated, even if it is to recommend some other ski resort nearby :) Thanks!

Hi! I guess it's important to consider that the winter when this video was made was one of the best winters (in terms of snow amount) ever. Which means that you were able to ride lines one probably should not try in a normal winter. Most of the terrain that can be easily accessed from the lift on Nassfeld are tree runs, however there are also lift accessed open lines. Highest elevation that can be reached by lift is 2000m... if you want to go higher you have to hike (earn your turns ;-) ). If you are willing to do that there is a ton of terrain waiting for you.

+Lukas Salcher Thanks man! Well I am willing, but probably not each time :P those tree lines are good, not too dense woods, doesn't get tracked out too much?

Sure, anytime. It varies, there are lines in dense trees, but also nicly spaced ones. The lines that are right next to the lifts do get tracked out fast... as everywhere ;-)

+Lukas Salcher thank youu.. Nassfeld is not very far from the Balkans, which is something to consider. Though, if you know some other good places to recommend please do (just not very expensive, chamonix or innsbrucker nordkette haha, I'm on a budget after all...) :) I prefer free riding compared to piste, which is hard to find on lower altitudes, which means I need to go deeper into Alps, which is further and more expensive to ski... Thought I saw some places with 6 day passes around 180€, which is not bad compared to the rest, but I don't know the quality etc. All advice is appreciated!

If there is snow this winter I can also recommend the Sella Nevea Area. Also great for Freeriding. Gastein is also a great spot if you want to head up a little further north :)

Lg
