If alternator and battery is around 13.4 volts (higher voltage in cold weather) with engine running and around 12.4 volts engine off they both are likely good. Make sure battery cables are tight and connections clean. If battery voltage drops a lot while watching it (with a volt meter (or overnight ) pull fuses and also look for wiring shorts to ground and repair item until battery voltage stops dropping. Don’t buy a battery is something else is bad.

Radio and Computer always have a drain against the battery when the Truck is off, how the Radio saves your programming. @johngotti9390
5 ай бұрын
This isn’t correct. At all. As long as things are installed correctly there won’t be any issues. You can add as much aftermarket stuff you want… as long as you upgrade any weak links also. Don’t go upgrading lights, audio etc an excessive amount without also upgrading your charging/battery.

Use a test light that has a filament bulb not LED, as well as the multimeter when testing for a draw, to create a load. Radio uses power for station memory and clock, but usually only draws milliamps. Not enough to drain a battery fast unless you have a bad battery. If the bulb glows bright and shows a 12v draw on the multimeter then you have a big draw.
