My wife and I decided to stop by Zanies on our honeymoon while we drove through Nashville on the 21st and I was thoroughly surprised to see the complete cast of this weeks podcast live. Sitting on the left side of the stage, most of the comedians that night made some comments about how the guy next to me and I were sitting with our heads turned at a weird angle. Never even occurred to me to actually move my chair for a better angle. Dusty made it clear throughout his set that we were having a great time, Aaron stood further back on the stage which helped, and Mike was sure to bring up the truck population. All in all, we were having a great time. Love the podcast

I don't understand why some things are determined worthy of a google, but not something as simple as "what is a ram?" Because it is simply a male sheep, not a cousin of the sheep that will likely show up at the family reunion...he is the father, grandfather, and brothers of the family. He is manning the grill at the family reunion.

When I was a little girl, my family used to go monthly grocery shopping. So when my dad would get paid, we would make a day out of going grocery shopping. We always got to go eat out, which was a rarity and very exciting. This particular occasion, they’d been talking all week about going to Cracker Barrel and then grocery shopping afterward. We woke up (it was April Fool’s Day) to bowls of Golden Graham cereal set out for us - possibly the worst cereal that exists. The relief that we felt when they told us that it was an April Fools prank was immense.

My Mom signed us up for a hypnosis session to help lose weight. It was at a Days Inn conference center with 100 other people. We were given the option to stay for a second hypnosis session to help stop smoking. There was a 10 minute intermission to go get our cigarettes and if we didn’t have them he encouraged us to “share with our neighbor”. During the session the hypnotist had us hot box a cigarette until we all got sick. After it was over he asked asked the crowd how we felt? When we replied sick, he said the session worked. 🙄 That was a long time ago and since then we have both stopped smoking and lost the weight without the help of our session.

Growing up, my dad was 6th of 7 so at breakfast they couldn't get a second bowl of cereal. My dad spent his childhood scheming to fit the most cereal in a bowl. He would start out with corn flakes and then add fruit loops along with other types of cereals. Finally, a mountain of Rice Krispies rose up from the brim of the bowl. He gained a liking to his multi-cereal concoction and continued eating it as an adult. Thankfully, he allowed us to just eat a second bowl of our favorite. I'll go proofread this now.

Big Daddy Bates stopped at 2003 because he figured there was no way that Nate would make it all the way through his list of research. I'm frankly surprised they made it as well. I was explaining what happened in the last episode to my wife and all I could remember was extensive talk on Goat family reunions, fossil fuels, and wrestling. To which she promptly asked, how did does that relate to Diet & Exercise? It doesn't. Love the rants and various tangents, look forward to every Wednesday!

Hey Nate, here’s a tip for reducing your sugar intake. Whenever you want a sugary food item eat a candy bar instead. So if you wake up and want a diet coke; instead, drink a water and eat a snickers bar. If an hour later you want some sour patch kids candy; eat another candy bar. It sounds counter productive, but there is less sugar in something like a snickers bar (20 grams) than a serving of sour patch kids (24grams) or a regular soda (39 grams). Eating a candy bar feels substantial, it’s more satisfying, and compared to other sugary treats they often contain less sugar. After doing this for a few days, you’ll be so tired of eating full size candy bars you’ll cut back, eventually getting your sugar intake to something more reasonable. I used this trick myself and it’s how I quit soda. I lost 15 pounds in a month.
