I feel like the 80's was the prime decade for movies of all genres. We mainly focus on the horror craze but films of all genres got to shine like Blues Brothers, Good Morning Vietnam, Weird Science, Caddyshack and others. Glad to see you're shaking it up some in this video

Chevy Chase, Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray, Eddie Murphy, John Belushi, John Candy, Rodney Dangerfield, Steve Martin, and Rick Moranis were the original badboys. They changed comedy films from the late '70s throughout the '80s. I love Chase's straight faced approach to humor in his films and back when he was on SNL. Fletch was a personal favorite Chevy Chase film for me but I do love his Vacation movies as well.

The decade got kickstarted big time in 1980 with Airplane!, The Blues Brothers, and Caddyshack!
The name of the roller coaster is Colossus. It's at Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia, CA which is about 20 miles from my house. They updated the ride several years ago and now it's called Twisted Colossus. I actually think the new ride is much better than the old one.

I have the first 3 movies on DVD and I can’t tell you how often I watch them, especially Pts. 1&2! And yes, I am a Chevy Chase fan. For me, he’s part of this group of funny actors/comedians from the 80s (some were in movies together) who everything they “touched was gold” (funny). In this franchise my faves are: NL Vacation; NL European Vacation; NL Christmas Vacation; Vacation (2015); Vegas Vacation.

My mom will bring up our first trip to Disney World in the summer of 88’. She said that everywhere we went from the departing airport to the hotel, I had to bring my giant stuffed lion with me. I must have been four or five so it must have been as big as I was. So of course it crowded the elevator. The snow while ride broke down while we were on it right at part with the witch, which scared my little sister. So we had to get out of the little tram and walk out the way we came in alongside the tracks. The rest of the trip went pretty smooth.

comedies are generally one of the fun movie genres simply because of the different films that comedy has and as you mention, a lot of chevy chase movies, especially spies like us, which is a really great movie the vacation movies are terrific, christmas vacation in particular, which is a Holiday tradition is one of those fun comedies, where clark and his family are having christmas with relatives But things go haywire when one of the relatives try to destroy their christmas tree european vacation, Like with Vacation, is also a great comedy, but the tones in that film, are so subtle that its easy to point out which ones are similar to vacation like the scene in european vacation where ellen griswald is taking a shower, and clark tries to tape her on a video camera, that scene, to me, is like the tones in vacation the scene in vacation where you see John candy, that is quite welcoming to the viewer

Who says Vacation isn't a horror? Aunt Edna and her dog die. Who's to say it wasn't on purpose? Who's to say Clark didn't die in the desert or kill the hotel guy who wouldn't cash that check? And Clark holds up the guy at Wally World. Vacation could be a suburban horror just with the 2 deaths.
