Tbf what vegetable or fruits are so bright and colourful? Most are similar colour to their surroundings or spending on what they are. Most things in the dirt are similar colour, dark purple, brown, dark orange. Things like bright orange, or red, or white potatoes are just so unnatural, or maybe they were darker before hand. But a lot of things have been genetically modified and through popular media like old shows or posters, from decades ago are now what people associate with. I mean so many things are unnatural since they just don’t fit compared to other things in similar environments. I mean why are oranges orange? They originally were green, and are actually affected by sunlight.

Yellow black is traditionally our national colour and will always be our identity. Since the formation of Malayan football association which was setup by several states football association such as selangor, Perak, negri sembilan, melaka and singapore and the first emblem of the football association of Malaya is black on the background and yellow on the tiger stripes and the logo. Historically Malayan flags during the early days is a stripes of white, red, yellow and black with tiger in the middle of the flags. It is the combination of the federated Malay states flags Selangor, negri sembilan, pahang and Perak. So the colour can be said was from the national flags itself during that time. To add about India, the blue colour was popularised by the cricket team. It was in 1992 when coloured jerseys replaced the traditional white-only jerseys in cricket. They wanted a unique colour to represent India. Orange was the best choice, it is not used by many countries. But maybe because of its political association at the time, it wasn't chosen. Having white didn't make sense, cricket jerseys had been white since ever already. Green was taken by Pakistan and you don't want to wear the same colour as your biggest rivals. So, the Ashokacakra was considered, and its blue adopted as the colour. Due to success and popularity in cricket, other sports too started using blue (except sometimes we have used orange-and-white in field hockey)

The Indian sports teams have been wearing light blue since before indipendece. Its because that was the official colour of the order of the Star of India. The star of India was also the official emplem of the country. The logo of the cricket team is also based on it.

Fun fact: the Dutch flag originally has orange instead of the red. One of the oldest colour swap happened in 1596 and in 1630, it was gradually getting more and more replaced with red. Occasionally we DO have a orange pendant. This was created after the independence between the Netherlands and France, but it's mainly used for remembering (inter)national disasters or the royal family's birthday nowaday.

East Germany played in traditional white shirts but swapped the black shorts for blue. When they reached their only world cup in 1974 they were placed in the same group as West Germany, so they switched their home colours to blue shirts and white shorts.
@briantravelman
5 күн бұрын
It's more complicated than that. Originally, matches used to be broadcast in black and white, so you often couldn't tell who was who, if they both had light shirts and dark pants or vice versa. So some teams were told to change colors so there would be contrast on TV when the matches were broadcast. Also, each team has a home uniform and an away uniform. The home team gets dibs on uniform, and if the other team's uniform is similar, they have to change it. But often they choose to play in their away uniforms regardless.
