As part of Historic Jamestown annual commemoration of the arrival of the first English settlers at Jamestown Island, the National Park Service and Preservation Virginia put on an outstanding collection of historical interpreters discussing and demonstrating various aspects of English and Powhatan lives and material culture. This person was explaining how the Eastern Woodlands Indians (in his case, a tribe from the Eastern Shore of Virginia) made and used tools from stone, bone, and antler, and how they made items such as clothing. In addition, he gave a fascinating talk on how pre-Columbian trade networks ran all the way from the East to the West Coasts of North America.
