I am a Native American. The Native American people of the North Americas and the South America's as well as indigenous people from around the world have all been preparing for these times. Indigenous people from around the world gathered for ceremony up in the mountains in big bear California. Many warnings were given and we are out of time now! You will always notice how the winds pick up when these types of fires occur just like in California and it works well in conjunction with weaponized laser lights some now you can't see with the naked eye. Then we had after the devastating California fires the Rothschilds buy up many of those properties. The ones behind the Maui fires expected to gain from this is Blackrock, Vangaurd, Zillow etc... Already Maui property destroyed by the fires these owners are receiving numerous calls by real estate offices asking if they want to sell. Former state Rep. Kaniela Ing is in trouble again with the Hawaii Campaign Spending Commission, and this time he’s facing criminal prosecution and possible jail time for allegedly failing to file a mandatory campaign spending update on time. Ing was running for Congress in 2018 when the commission assessed nearly $22,000 in penalties, administrative fines and restitution against him for 23 inaccurate reports he filed between 2011 and 2016. Among other inappropriate uses of campaign funds, the commission determined that Ing, who represented South Maui at the time, used campaign funds to cover $2,125 in rent for residences on Oahu and Maui and spent $219 to make a payment on his domestic partner’s credit card account. Ing also deposited a campaign check worth $2,000 into his personal checking account but failed to document it on his campaign spending reports.

I believe our over population of this planet and all the products we consume as well throw away are having an adverse effect on our planet from a standpoint of the soil, water and atmosphere, but it's nearly impossible to exactly pinpoint the cause for every event. It's in people's nature to find someone or something to blame during horrific events like this. The shame of it all is they lose site of the overall factors when focused on one thing.

To me, it's the most beautiful, advanced culture I've ever studied, learned about, experienced and why Hawaii is the most beautiful place I've ever been and experienced, mentally, physically and spiritually. The Aloha spirit permeates everything there, all cultures who live there greatly appreciate it, and continually express it. The low class oligarchs who wish to burn it so they can steal it, would only destroy it and turn it into a dessert, like they did with the sugar cane fields.

according a professor from university of Hawaii the root cause of lahaina maui fire was a field of tall grass (that previously grew sugar cane) which you can see from satellite images. it is maybe 400 metres wide and as long as half the town. if that field of tall grass was either grazed or burnt off as a precaution against wild fires it appears that the town would have not suffered its most recent catastrophic fire event that engulfed over 1000 buildings. to blame trump and the oil industry is consistent with "de-skilled young people" who lack the knowledge/insight to prevent future fire events similar to this one

This is the result of an overheated atmosphere, caused by the daily gigatons of heat eight billion humans with a globalized civilization are pumping into the atmosphere; desiccating landscapes all over the globe, sucking all moisture up into the upper atmosphere, dumping it all at once in one place when it hits a convergence zone, leaving desiccated landscapes primed to burn. This is why we see biblical fires and flooding all over the globe daily now. No matter where you live on the planet now you’d be wise to identify, remove or mitigate any fire hazards around your home and on your exit route. Come up with and practice your own evacuation plan, be ready to run on a moment’s notice and DO NOT hesitate to do so if the time comes.

Before the arrival of European explorers, Lahaina was just another village on Maui, with no special history. Lahaina became the "capitol", so to say, of the Kingdom of Hawaii, only after the establishment of that kingdom by Kamehameha, who deliberately murdered thousands of Hawaiian men, women, and children, who opposed him to their deaths, in order to establish that blood-soaked kingdom by stealing all Hawaiian lands during 1785-1810.

That is absolutely false as far as the weather. More rain falls in Southern California than in Lahaina. There is a rain shadow that has perpetually kept nearby vegetation dry long before climate change. Insurers probably should have been looking to non-renew policies in Lahaina just like they've been doing in California. The hills around Lahaina would not be looking like California golden hillsides if it rained a lot. It's the view of the world where our success isn't determined by how much we can afford, but rather how much we produce for others and share, and where our economy is not based on how well the rich are doing, but how many of us can actually thrive. It's not just indigenous knowledge, but it's that value system that needs to be re-established…Indigenous leaders also need to be resourced to build the good. They need to be the purveyors of and architects of the new green and community-rooted world that's still possible even in these dire times. - Kaniela Ing (15.54 - 16.54)

I seen a video yesterday about work being done in Mexico City's Chinampas and what a beautiful way to provide food , a eco system and green the planet.Perhaps looking to a system like this could improve that dry barren land. It made me wonder if a trenching system couldn't be built for coastal and inland flood waters, storm surges and climate predictions about sea rise? Can we do or build something because surely as humans capable of creating these problems we can create solutions to keep people safe.

I adopted two dogs from a native Hawaiian friend who died. Tufa and Nani. We are all heart broke over your tragedy and the tragedy Hawaii has become since colonialism. I was told that Tufa was native Hawaiian for powerful ( the male) and Nani stood for beautiful ( the girl) It describes them perfectly as it does the native Hawaiian people. You will be in our thoughts for some time to come.

Wow. That family was so good at surviving. I’m thinking that soon we may all have experiences like this. This is putting people back into primordial survival situations where your family’s lives will depend upon how well you are able to human effectively in the wild and how much luck you and up getting. When this sort of thing happens it happens fast and will be the most important choices you ever make. I don’t know if we are really prepared for what is happening to us.

You can be shot dead in Walmart these days. You won't need survival skills. There is so much more than climate change that we all need to worry about and try and get this lame government to fix.

@@aeyrul1sad that your mind is on your weird ideas about gender and trans people in response to a tragic and preventable climate change disaster. Maybe talk to some as you say “gender confused” and try to understand them before you start going on random comments on videos about a disaster, how people survive and the primordial urges people have to be able to not die in a disaster. Just really quite sad that your mind goes to something you clearly don’t understand, in the weirdest of places.

I definitely agree with this speaker, Kaniela Ing. There's so much mismanagement. There is not even a 20 meter buffer zone from some coastline areas. Monocropping is really bad, killing biodiversity, decreasing resiliency. It's really sad that this disaster happened. Climate emergency indeed.
